Welcome jmille!! So glad to have you with us.  I LOVE Celebrate vitamins.  I have some from various companies and I've had the pleasure of meeting the CEO who is a very nice guy.  I attended the ASMBS and Bariatric Advantage was supposed to be releasing an iron supplement that was like eating chocolate and it was phenomenal.  I need to check back on that one.  Sometimes iron upsets my stomach if I take it without food.  Anyway WELCOME!

I didn't do well with chewable multi-vitamins. I choked them down the first few weeks but as soon as I could swallow larger things I went back to my Centrum vitamins and use a pill cutter to cut them in half. Maybe I just didn't get the right chewables!! IDK?! I'm doing fine with cutting my vitamins in half.

I LOVE my Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Chewy bits--I have them in chocolate, lemon and raspberry and like them all. They are delicious!!

Good luck with your surgery!!!!

Thank you!!!

You know I am afraid I won't do well with the chewables.  Heck I can't stand the thought of chewing up a flinstones or any other kiddie vitamin.  Ewww, yuck!  What am I going to do???    My booklet states that we must do chewables for 12 weeks.  Dayum!

I am doing the Wegman's brand of a chewable multi-vitamin... it is comparable to Centrum Chewables and are better tasting than the flintstones (which I refuse to do).  Of course, when my NUT heard I was doing the Wegman's brand/Centrum Chewables she had a fit... the first ingredient in the Wegman's brand multi is surculose.  She wants me to switch to the flintstones complete, but I just can't go there.  Might have to cough up the extra money and get the celebrate...

Anyway, the Wegman's brand are orange flavor and I don't mind them.  I wasn't to start the multi until two weeks post-surgery.  My calcium and B-12, etc will be at 4 weeks post-op... though I may be waiting even longer to start my calcium?  Due to a history of kidney stones I'm told they will wait until 6 months post op, though I think that could be dangerous!  Yvonne and I have talked about the calcium deal before.  I need to revisit that link!

Good luck!

Suzy if you want to PM your address to me (if that doesn't weird you out) I'll send you some of my Celebrate chewables.  The tangerine orange and the lemon calcium chewy ones are like candy.  Message me if you'd like me to send you some or either check out the sample pack for Celebrate.
hugs, Y

Aw heck, it wouldn't weird me out at all.  I actually just went ahead and ordered the organe flavor - since I saw where a few other people named it their favorite flavor.    And I ordered a small tub of Chike chocolate.  And I ordered a sample pack of all the Chike flavors.

I'll work on the other vitamins soon....but if I can at least get started with something..that's better than nothing, right?  LOL.

Krysti there have often been some great debates about Flintstones.  I heard it straight from a nutritionists mouth and she said that they will suggest Flintstones because they are cheaper and they know most patients will at least take them even though they are less than desirable when it comes to the needs of the bariatric patient.  They figure some is better than nothing but vitamin defienciency is nothing to play with.  You did make me laugh when you said you might have to "cough up" the extra money for the Celebrate.  My offer is the same to you as Suzy.  See the post I wrote to her.  I just got a big shipment of the multi vitamin and I'm happy to share a sample.  Those lemon chewy calcium things are to die for.  They are in individual packets and wouldn't mind sending you one.  Hugs, Y
