Vitamins - advice?
OY! I should not have waited til the almost last minute for this - but I have not gotten my vitamins in order ...I don't even know where to begin. Would I be able to find everything I need at first at the Vitamin Shoppe??????? Ugh. THAT's going to be my problem - getting in the habit ot taking all the pills I will have to take.

I take a chewable multi vitamin from Celebrate that's called Tangerine I think and it's SO GOOD. I also take a creamy lemon Calcium supplement from the same place that's the closest thing to candy. My iron is chewable too and I think it's orange too. I do B-12 injections. It's pretty important to take a multi vitamin, calcium, iron and some B-12. I don't look at it as pills though...more like treats because they taste so great. Let me know how I can help.

At my preop class this past week, the nurse said start with one type of vitamin supplement a week and build up to the entire schedule. (She claimed you are not going to get deficient in just a few weeks)
When I got home my box of pills had arrived and I started to realize why. It is over whelming to just figure out which one to take when and a few of them look a like so I cant let them get mixed up....
Go get the multi and the calcium and start with those...by the time you are feeling better after surgery, you will be used to those two and can add more...and you will have time to shop around.
If I forget to say it later, good luck on Monday!!!

Thank you ! Yeah I was sorta thinking that I could start taking them after a couple of weeks or so...I'll see what they say at the hospital. I'm just trying to get used to the idea of everything...and I can't begin to wrap my brain around the vitamins yet. That's not to say that I am not willing to take them and comply - I AM - totally. I'll at least get myself some Centrum chewables.....then work up from there.
