Packed and Ready to Go

You would think I was going to Club Med instead of the hospital. I was packed 5 days ago and my suitcase was full. Then I went to my support group and some said I wouldn't need most of the things I packed. So then I unpacked until my child size suitcase was only 1/3 full.

Well today I decided it was my hospital trip and I could bring whatever I wanted. This is just a small list of what I am bringing.

I have a book , 2 movies, 2 magazines, make-up, 2 pair of cute tie waist scrubs that I embellished the hems with daisy trim, blow dryer, ear plugs, Oasis (spray for dry mouth), gas-x, listorine breath strips, IPOD, new
socks and slippers.

I have been spoiling myself for 2 months. I have new small plates and bowls that are beautiful and colorful.

I bought some cute pj capris and tank tops for recovery at home.

I made my own pantry with just my special things.

So much to look forward to. The hospital called to remind me of the time I was supposed to be at the hospital and the woman said "wow you really sound happy" and I told her she was right!

I am going to check out something called Whey Crisps. They contain 40 grams of protein. If you are interested they are at wheycrisps.com. The bariatric nutritionist told me about them.

Keep looking up!

You are so fun. :)   I really hope you get to use your entertainment.  Are you staying overnight?  I did and had maybe about four hours of time that I could have used a movie or my DS.  I bought a DS just for that but I couldn't get out of bed without help so I didn't check, I jus****ched tv.  You will probably be doing much better though because the other people we saw were!  I just had that extra odd asthma attack so I needed extra drugs.  :)

Good luck tomorrow!  Each day I feel so much better and I can already feel full when I drink a shake so I know it's working already.  <3

Don't write until you're ready but I've been thinking about you sweetie.  When you can let us know you're OK!
hugs, Y

It is good you are having fun and excited.
Out of curiosity, let us know how you might have packed differently AFTER the experience.
I needed nothing.  Like you said though, it's your hospital trip and you should play it like you want to.
Best Wishes!

Anne,

You should see what I take camping. My tent is a luxury suite. I even have a cook tent and I make gourmet coffee too. I always like to make things special both for me and others. My bicycle looks like Pee Wee Herman's. I couldn't get anymore junk on it. People laugh at me and they  do it fun. But I always have what they didn't bring. I do group camping.

I will let you know what I didn't use. Thanks for being so nice. If I could hug everyone here I would.

You sound like a wonderful companion to have.
I wouldn't make fun of you except while I was sipping on the gourmet coffee outside your cook tent.
hugs to you too girl, it's YOUR day now.

I brought a ton of movies, laptop, books, and magazines. I probably spent 25 on magazines alone. They were useful on the plane rides, but not for the hospital. I did watch several movies when nothing was on tv but of course, I only have a couple of channels in Mexico and was in the hospital for five days.

Is yours lap?

Me again...

I am bringing a Spanish Soap Opera DVD. It has 119 episodes. I like looking at the good looking Mexican actors. Actually my friends and I watch Spanish movies and Soaps to learn more Spani****'s a lot of fun too. I even have a Gomer Pyle DVD and most of you are too young to know Gomer.

The hospital has a DVD player. I am sure my husband wouldn't want me to take the laptop. We share it. His hobby is photography and he uses Photo-Shop.

Emily it has been so nice getting to know you. The people I have met here are very real to me and not just a user-name on my monitor. You are all my very good friends. I missed you when you went to the hospital.

You would think I already had anesthesia because I am so sentimental. I used to be afraid to show my feelings, I would want to hug someone but I held back. I haven't held back in a long time so I am always hugging and kissing everyone and telling them how I feel.

I feel the same way about you, Dianna. Thinking about you today!!!

By the way, the sentimental stuff gets WAAAAY worse. On Day five til now, I've cried everyday, either missing my kids or something on tv.
