Hi all-

It's Spring Break week for us and we are in Myrtle Beach!  I am so excited because this is the first time we have been on vacation since my surgery...

It's an amazing feeling to be on the beach and not feel miserable and drenching with sweat from all the excess weight I was carrying.  I can actually sit and enjoy soaking up the sun, walking forever up and down the beach (without stopping to catch my breath and take a break), playing with my son in the water all day long, walking the strip for miles and not praying for it to end or complaining about taking one more step!!!

For the first time in a LONG time I'm beginning to feel comfortable in my own skin!!

Life is GOOD today...

Have a great day!!

I'm soooooooooooo jealous!!  (But happy for you at the same time)  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and water and sunshine.  Isn't it wonderful???  I can remember buying one of those huge dresses at the beach to try to cover up before surgery.  It was always bright yellow or red or white.  I wasn't fooling anyone so I can so relate to what you're saying about actually sitting and soaking up the sun.  Enjoy every minute to the fullest and remember the sand in between your toes.  Life is good!
hugs, Y

Just got back from my morning stroll down the strip!  Walking hand n hand with my husband, and breathing in the smell of the ocean is an indescribable feeling to me!  Don't want it to end.. :)

I love the feel of the sand between my toes, the sun on my face, the wind in my hair and the sound of the waves is very therapeutic for me!  I'm a beach baby and can't get enough!  Can you say instant stress relief.

Yesterday I watched my mom who is a 2x Breast Cancer survivor get her first tattoo!  It's the Pink Ribbon and it says survivor and the two years she was diagnosed.. Amazing

Reminds me of how precious life is!

What a great memory to add to our 2010 Spring Break Vacation!  This is one vacation that was long over due for all of us!

Have a great day...

I LOVE Myrtle Beach! I'm jealous - but SO happy for you!

I love the pink ribbon tattoo! Cancer has touched my family SO many times, we've been lucky SO far ... I'm walking in the Relay for LIfe in June - something I wouldn't have considered before WLS (I was barely able to walk through the grocery store!). I will wear a ribbon for each loved one who has survived, and for each person we lost. When I reach my goal weight and have some of this excess skin rearranged, I plan to get a tattoo as a reward. I haven't decided what to get - but something meaningful would be nice!

Enjoy the sand, surf and sun!

Are you going to Broadway at the Beach or Barefoot Landing while you're there?

It's been beautiful here!  Yes we are planning to go over to Broadway at the Beach.. I can actually walk to it from our hotel!! WOOHOO....  Went to Barefoot Landing yesterday!  :)

Yes the whole tattoo thing is exciting.  I'm actually getting one on Thursday and I'm just tickled pink!!  :)

My son, husband, mom and I are all walking in the Race for the Cure in a few weeks.  I am thrilled to be able to walk beside her and not only celebrate her survival but also my new life after surgery!

Have a great day!!

I'm doing the Relay for Life in June - it means a lot more when you know people who have been there and done that - but this is for the ones who made it and the ones who didn't!

I am so jealous too! I am heading to mexico on vacation in a week or two - but I dont even fit in my bathing suits!  It will be me huffing and puffing, sweating, clothes that are not fitting.  A bit depressing ...

But I will keep in mind - how things will be.!..:)
