WLS Success-through Powerful Positive Attitudes
A Quick Check In
Greetings my Dear Friends:
I think the second bad thing about being back to work (the first being less time with darling DH) is that I have so much less time for hello's in my favorite online family.
I had a fun Wow yesterday. As some may know I sell fine jewelry at a local department store. I had taken a walk downstairs and was standing next to one of the displays when two mature ladies walked by. I stood still to let them walk by and when they passed I started to walk again, one of them jumped back and said "OMG you scared me!! I thought you were a mannequin!" "You're so tall thin and pretty" LOL It did make an otherwise dull day a bit smilier.
I have been having a bit of a time with my blood surgar latley, keeping it up that is. I haven't been having super lows, but keeping it at 100 has been difficult. My family, in particular my dh and my dad think that I now need to gain weight. I have a normal bmi (5'6" & 130 = 20.9 bmi) Honestly, gaining on purpose just does not feel like on option. I just had my labs drawn, if the labs say I need to put on some weight then I will of course look at doing that. How has anyone else delt with this?
Hope all is well with you my dear Friends.

Im sorry your having issues with the blood sugar levels. I wish I had info for you that would help..but sadly I do not. I have noticed though that I have not had issues with mine as much since I have been off my BP medication..I go back to the Dr today to see if I have remained with a normal range BP and get to stay off of it permanently! I still have to make sure I have a good protein bar with me so if I get shaky I can munch on that instead of grabbing something I shouldn't. I hope they don't tell you that you have to gain some weight back..I know how hard you must have worked to take that weight off.
Hang in there girlie friend..if I see anything on the boards about this I will pass it along to you. Hugs..Katie
My Dear Katie Please read the ingredients on those protein bars, they put lots of hidden "Sugars" in those bars. Take a Look at that Awesome poster that Yvonne Made about the 40 ways to say sugar.
Honestly I am not sure what I will do if they do tell me to gain weight, I just don't feel like that is an option. If I have to add certain things into my diet that add a pound or two , well ok, but to actually attempt weight gain, Yikes.
So maybe I should look at cutting down on my BP meds, the only thing is they really help with my headaches.
Hi all-
This is a subject that I discuss frequently with one of my dear WLS friends. We really feel like this needs to be researched and discussed more in the Bariatric community.
My low blood sugar episodes started when I was 1 year out and I seriously had no clue what was going on because I didn't know the symptoms. Mine will drop to the 40's and it's not a good feeling physically or mentally.
I know there is talk about the amount of protein and carbs we take in etc.. I feel like when I ask the doc's and dietitians I get that "we are still baffled look". I welcome more research, discussions and getting the word out to patients about the symptoms to help put the awareness out there and educate our WLS friends & Family!! :)
Have a great day everyone ~
