Update

Yvonne you were right......the drain coming out did not hurt. I heard from my hubby and WLS friends and even remembered when the drains were removed from my breast reduction surgery hurting. No pain on Thursday but a very WEIRD sensation. It did make me nauseous.

I did have to travel an hour this am to go to the ER where my surgeon is, for an infection in one of my incisions. Friday I was in so much pain with drainage from this site. Of course this is at night when the offices are closed and the start of a weekend. We called the answering service and made arrangements for this morning. He had to reopen clean it out and fill me with some packing material.
I had to laugh because the surgeon said because this is one of the surgery sites I should be pretty numb but he will numb me up some anyway. Well I have to say he is wrong I felt almost everything. OUCH.  I made quite a few faces and tried not to flinch and kept praying so I wouldn't cry out. I did not want to startle the man with scissors all  the way  up to the handle inside of me. He knew I was in pain but you have to do what you have to do. Now the pain is gone and I have been sleeping most of the afternoon. I'm trying to stay awake now so I will be able to sleep tonight. Its hard sleeping through the nights.
This is just a little bump in the road no detours...Thank the Lord

Oh honey I am so sorry to hear this happened to you! Your postive outlook is going to take you very far. Im not sure I would have handled it as well as you did, so you should be very proud of yourself.  I will continue to pray for your speedy recovery..you hang in there kiddo. Big Hugs

I'm soooooooo glad you said that about the drain because I can quote you now.  I always hate it when you go in expecting the drain to hurt and it just makes it worse I think.  Mine was a weird sensation too...and it sounded like something from Star Trek!

I wish however that you had not had to go through the other stuff.  Bless you sweet heart. I too had to do that packing thing for plastic surgery...well my husband had to even do some of that packing stuff.  I'm so sorry it didn't get you numb but you're right....you are past that bump in the road.  You got that right about not flinching when someone has scissors inside your body!  Get lots of rest sweetie...it's all going to get better from here.
