Broken Foot

Yesterday I fell and broken my left foot.  It's funny because I have not been able to cross my legs for many, many years and now that I have lost so much weight, I sit with legs crossed and my feet go to sleep.  Yesterday, with all the snow, it made it very cold in my office and I just thought my feet were cold, not asleep.  So warning, make sure you wake your feet up, before you stand up.

My first thought when they brought out the crutches, that I would not have trouble getting around, since I have loss so much weight.    That was the only time I cried, since I fell.  Tears of gratitude.

I THANK God everyday, for everything he has given me in my weight loss journey, even broken bones.

Well you'll be the cutest WLS post-op on crutches for sure!  Bless your heart!!  Isn't it the truth though?  Can you imagine trying to get around on crutches with all the extra weight?  Tears of gratitude are the best kind!

How long will you be on crutches?  Do you have a cast?  If you do you have to sign it for me....we'll call it a cyber sign and put "hugs, Y" and know I'm thinking about you and wishing you well as soon as possible.

hugs, Y

Well I found out today, I will have surgery on Monday to put a plate in my foot.  That is better then a plate of food in my mouth - lol.  So I will be on crutches for 7 weeks and have to go through physical therapy afterwards.

Through this whole weight loss journey, I have found an incredible New Doctor (GP), who was not only there for me to day and got me to an orthopedic specialist; but has thought me so much more about losing weight then just my lapband.  That my band is just a tool; but there are 7 healers that you need to apply in your life on a daily basis and much more that I get out of my classes on a weekly basis..

What a peace I have about all of this.  Seven weeks and counting.  Hope my arms hold up.

You might have to put some padding on the top of the crutches to keep your little'r arms comfy.  Just think how much ab work this will help on!

Hang in there Hon....7 weeks will be done before you know it. Do the exercises PT recommends and try getting the extra padding on the arm rest so you don't hurt your armpits with the crutches.
