Mini-Wow Moment...

Well, yesterday my family and I went to the Scout store to purchase scout leader uniforms for my wife and I as well as pinewood derby car kits.  I performed a recon mission first and according to the size chart posted on their website, I needed a size MEDIUM (REGULAR FIT) in pants.  I thought to myself that they must run really large.

My wife handed me the pants at the store and I held them up and told her that these had to be a "kids medium".  The waist was too small and the legs were too skinny.  The helpful Eagle Scout in the store insisted that they were the adult unisex medium.  There was no way this was going to fit me.  So, in total disbelief, off I went to the dressing room.  Hmmm...my legs are fitting in just fine but there is no way...wait...I can button the waist with about an inch of room to spare.

Two weeks ago I was so excited to fit into new Levi boot cut jeans with a 36 inch waist.  I bought two pair.  Now they are both loose on me!  I never thought I'd see my military weight again but it's coming...

First of all-CONGRATS on that wow! I know what it feels like-and you cannot BUY it!! Life is good.

And second..WEEP! You took me WAY back to when my son, Patrick was a little guy-with the Pinewood derby! OH the fun we had!! He is now 25 and lives and works up in Alaska on the Pipeline.

Enjoy your WOWS and enjoy your family!!

I'd say that was more than a mini wow!  I have a very distinct memory of the first time I did not have to do to the plus size area.  Granted it was in Walmart but that's OK it was still a big deal to me.  I will never forget actually looking up at the signs above the clothes and knowing I never had to go to the right side again.  I'm so proud of you!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations on your WOW moment. Those of the moments when we know this journey is worth everyday it took to get here.   I was like you, I cannot get into this.  But I started larger and had to keep putting my clothes back on to go get the next smaller size, then the next smaller size until I was screaming in the dressing room with such joy.   What a great day you had.

I'm thinking there should be a great joke in this.  Do you remember Epilady shavers that yanked the hair out of your legs.  Joan Rivers said she walked down the hotel corridor and heard a woman screaming and didn't kmow if she was being murdered or using her Epilady.  We could add  OR a newly post-op trying on new clothes!
