I have to be away this morning for a while but will get right back in when I get back but I had to show you something regarding clay!  The lady is about 2 inches tall and I did her face from clay and painted the eyes, mouth, lashes.  The flowers are clay too.

Unicorn

A little angel doll, I put every strand of hair in her head

A moose

A logger Santa Claus

And finally a lady made from ceramic that I draped a necklace on but made the flowers from clay

OK, one more....my hippie guy

And when I get back I'll tell you about my flashcards that I do too.  Is this the kind of clay you are playing with?? Mine is polymer clay.

Be back soon!

OH my goodness!! How absolutely FABULOUS!!! How creative are you?! See-now you have doubly inspired me!! LOL!

Tell me-how did you learn this? How did you get started? How often do you create?? I have questions!! :)

My clay? *Blu****'s called "Plasticine" (It's a british child's type clay). This clay doesn't harden and you can make things and "Squish them onto the fridge" as my stepson tells me! LOL!

Seriously though-I would LOVE to learn to do some cool things with clay.

Hope all is well.

Peace,
T

You can buy all kinds of books and it's called Polymer clay.  Once you get the thing formed you put it in the oven for the recommended time (depending on the thickness) and then after cooling it's totally hard.  You can paint it and all kinds of things.  Check out this link with all these books:

http://www.polymerclayexpress.com/books.html

For instance here's a simple one.

You get a tiny flower pot. It's about 3 inches high. There's a couple of cotton patches on the side and a bow on the kitty's head.  The whiskers are wire.  The lady bugs are red and black clay with wire antennae.  You can make some of the most beautiful jewelry and it's not as hard as it looks.  I looked around and found a little you tube video that shows you how to make butterflies.

I'm sure there are TONS of videos.  They talk about Fimo clay which is just another type.  I've made earrings and even something that looks like jade.  Please let me know if I can help!  I also did the flowers that are in this tiny vase.

I could certainly scan some stuff and email it to you!
