Thank you! I too believe it is a bad decision but made without thinking it completely through.  Sharing you post is different from sharing an entire thread without other's permission.
love ya girl, Y

Hi Yvonne!

I had to jump in here on this thread. I AGREE! Also-there is a difference between sharing a post and linking to a place where someone can click "All this person's previous posts"!!! You know that latest posts button? It goes ALL the way back!

Hugs and HI!!

Peace,
T

You are a doll and I appreciate your support.  Some people don't even know about the link to show all previous posts.  It is something that just doesn't fit into the whole social media system.  I foresaw this long ago.  I warned, I begged, I pleaded to please stop the bully stuff and the vitriol because so many would run to facebook.  This is not the solution...the solution would to start banning the toxic trauma drama people.  Now the board is sub-dividing into good groups like ours and bad groups where they are open to say the nastiest possible things.

I think back to my post last night where I made a comment about someone saying shut up and that was so out of my comfort zone but I was always taught that was one of the nastiest things to say and I couldn't keep my mouth shut.  I also took up for the same person later because so many members think that have blogs and websites are "rich" which is the total opposite.  I know some people don't believe this but to this day I have never made a dime from WLS other than a couple of hotel rooms covered for speaking.

And lastly, Miss Redd, you are one of the most kind, caring and compassionate members I know and it's when I find people like you, it keeps me from giving up.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, your caring and dedication.
hugs, Y

As always Yvonne, you considerately and oh-so-eloquently offer your opinion in a caring, compassionate manner.  Personally, what struck me most was your 'call' for suggestions to rectify the various issues rather than just bickering about it all.  THAT was far more helpful than the back-and-forth garbage.

The theory that if someone doesn't want to share all with everyone, we must be 'ashamed' of ourselves really made me livid.  I am proud of my journey, and will gladly answer questions or share aspects of my WLS--if asked.  However, I chose not to let RNY define me entirely.  When I meet new people, I'm simply Danelle.  I don't say, "Hello, I'm Danelle...two years ago I was morbidly obese but chose to change my life by having GB.  Let me tell you all about it..." nor do I feel the need or desire to tell all the people I went to high school with.

"Some people don't even know about the link to show all previous posts.  It is something that just doesn't fit into the whole social media system.  I foresaw this long ago.  I warned, I begged, I pleaded to please stop the bully stuff and the vitriol because so many would run to facebook.  This is not the solution...the solution would to start banning the toxic trauma drama people.  Now the board is sub-dividing into good groups like ours and bad groups where they are open to say the nastiest possible things."

I couldn't agree more with this statement!  I keep wondering about the various posts I've seen on transfer addictions, or those seeking a way out of an abusive/bad relationship once they regain their self confidence.  Will people be as willing to seek advice or help on these issues now?  What happens if someone, out of pure spite, decides to plaster something LIKE THAT, all over a Twitter page?  [Sure, they could have before--but lets face it, most are too lazy to do the copy/paste of html links--thankfully, now they don't even have to work at it! ]

My understanding is that people cannot link the stuff in groups?  Well, they can, but because membership here is required to view the group---the thread can't be read?  Is that correct?

My darlin' Danelle you cannot imagine how wonderful you have made me feel.  I may come across like a confident person but deep down I still suffer from extreme low self esteem and I will still hope to overcome some of it but it is a daily struggle that I deal with.  I also don't let it define me entirely but I am as open as possible in hopes that I can make a difference either in someone's impression for the better or give the gift of the possibility of surgery.  I totally forget which stories I tell but just because I told a bellman about my surgery he went home and discussed it with his wife that had been begging for 3 years and he said no because he thought it was a bunch of crap.  He had tears in his eyes and was sorry he had done that to his wife.

I always loved your posts and was so glad you joined.  You are such a sweetheart.

I believe you are correct about linking to anything in groups.  The thing is the whole reason that many are running for the hills is because of the mob mentality of toxic trauma drama.  Some poor person can say something and get jumped on and never want to post again.  To me when we lose someone because of that, we take the chance of them losing their chance to succeed on their journey because they are too afraid to ask a question.

Regardless of what anyone thinks of the OH thing, it's best to contact them and let them know how they feel.  It hurt my feelings when some of those people accused OH of doing it only to increase revenue and other hurtful things especially since my friend Jeremy tried so hard to explain it.  I certainly understand those that were afraid of having their posts put on FB but we need to come to an understanding like civilized people.  It will certainly be interesting to see how it shakes out.  The great thing is that we can talk about it here and be among friends.  If it hadn't been for JEllen, I wouldn't have realized what was going on.

Thanks Danelle...you too are so special to me.  Thank you for taking time out of your day to say something so special.
hugs Y

Hi... I am still happy that I mentioned it because I feel WE need extra caution with sharing OUR FEELINGS and questions regarding our HEALTH CARE.  Some on the main board say... those of us who are upset are ignorant of the sharing that was able to be done before the "share" buttons.

This is a public site blah blah blah...I'm not ignorant of that! I just don't think making it easier for someone to copy a post in an instant without thinking is the best thing to do.

but WHAT REALLY amazes is learning that the share buttons also exist on the forum that i stumbled on .... which is really an ADULT forum. and there isn't just one ADULT forum. a couple of them shouldn't have the ability to share with the touch of a button.

good grief start sharing that and people could really have PROBLEMS that hadn't even dreamed about. post something from that site, and have minors reading their Facebook... Sounds like big time T R O U B L E!!!!

So OH edited their post. and added that they hope to remove the share button from that forum... I think they should have thought about that BEFORE it was put in place.

Ok end of my RANT...

I just wanted our friends here in Yvonne's Group to be aware of what was going on..... hopefully, a few of these issues have been resolved like those share buttons being moved FAR to the right... away from the post reply button!!!  YES! a small victory to us malcontents!
