Ok I'm sorry for flaming but don't want to share with FACEBOOK

If you weren't aware a new feature has been added... the ability to share an ENTIRE thread with Facebook. Once a person posts there our info is open to anyone. I'm not happy about this. I'm not sure when they added this... but would like to see it removed.

I think that was more of a vent than a Flame. I think maybe if we go to the main forum and request the removal, possibly by a poll (ive seen other complaints) they may remove it. Like you I'd rather not have my business spread about the world. Let's see what we can do.

Yes, of course, you are right about it being a vent. Just my little icon is flaming... lol 

Up to this point everyone has spoken very openly about many personal issues... what color poo... what smells.... etc... foamies... issues with people at their workplace-- including supervisors....
Even though this is not private-- in the sense of a face-to -face conversation with a friend... it isn't JUST OUT THERE FOR ALL TO SEE EITHER....
many people have never heard of Obesity Help and that is fine with me... I don't want every person that has had contact with me knowing how I felt when they say something udderly IGNORANT.
and what about when we speak of our fears of REGAIN.... suppose a prospective employer- sees that and learns once we were 250 300 or more... will they hire..?  or if a person is up for a promotion will they be even considered or dropped because of POSSIBLE increased health costs to the company. These are issues that we have had the freedom to discuss. But now with the EASE of coping people who never would have taken the time to copy & paste can make a quick move & there it is for all the world to see....

Obviously OH has tried to catch up with the rest of the world on this and hadn't realized the ramifications of sharing an entire thread.  Sharing someone else's posts is not right and I will let them know as well,  If there was a way to only share your post that would be OK because it's your choice but not the entire thread.  I would suggest when you post an answer to someone to put a note at the bottom also:
*please do not share this thread or my post on Facebook*

That is until this is fixed.  Someone didn't think this out.  I've already seen many PM's asking for a response so I think this will be fixed soon!

Dear Mr. Klein

Recently the Add It wigets have been put on OH. I am writing you to strongly urge you to remove these.  Obesity Help is a very specialized forum.  It is a medical-surgical forum and some of the 'tmi' posts wouldn't be appropriate anyplace other than here.  OH is the first website/forum that I felt free enough to actually post my pictures on, even thought I did not change my avatar until this year.

Other than all the obvious reasons that members may not want their posts spread out across the web, without their permission there are some more serious reasons. Another poster made an excellent point having had a major surgery or once been morbidly obese may be something that a perspective employer or insurance company uses to deny someone.  Maybe a long shot sure, but if it happens to one person that's one to many.

I plan on leaving my profile public a few more days, then sadley I will be making it private, and changing my avatar.
