Clearances Update!

Howdy Yvonne!  Aren't you just the sweetest thang!

OMG, I certainly hope I do not have to drink that crap again before surgery.   I am pretty sure I asked that question at one of my appointments and was told no... hopefully Shammy or someone else that has had their surgery done at Arnot will chime in and verify that!  Please, I beg of you... do not make me drink that again!

I don't think you will have to drink that stuff again.  I didn't have to prior to surgery.  I was on a 24 hr clear liquid diet the day before--and that was it. 

~eye roll~

Nevermind, stop the horses!  Dr. Rahman told me to go ahead and schedule my pre-op physical with my PCP, but the office said.. whoa!  My papers have NOT been submitted to the insurance company yet and that can take 4 to 6 weeks to hear back on!  So, they told me to cancel my Pre-op that Dr. Rahman had me schedule.  I feel like a yo-yo!  ~laughing~

Ok here is a new song to replace oompha loompa & pants on the ground...  due to your scheduling debacle....

the only time it isn't so great is in the immediate post-op period!
Do not let anyone into your room that thinks it is great fun to crack jokes  while you are already in STITCHES!!!

I am so glad you are through with the clearances. I will see Dr Rahman on the 8th and I will find out if we have to drink that stuff prior to surgery. Ted had Dr.Cole and he did have to do the bowel prep along with the clear liquids the day before. I felt so sorry for him. I had surgery in 1999  for abdominal tumor and I had to drink a gallon container of the cherry flavored stuff. I gagged through it. Near the end I poured a glass for me to drink and then poured a glass to dump down the drain.I was  already running clear and didn't see the need to continue so I alternated the cups like this. I didn't tell the Dr at the time but the nurse said it was ok.

We  watched the Johhny Depp's version of the movie one night and went to the grocery store later. My husband (forever the jokester) saw a package of Pignoli Nuts and said "OH the poor little Pignoli's. Look what they did to them..."  I guess you had to be there. but all I could picture was the poor little guys ...well you know

Actually, I'm lacking one clearance...

Yeah, that stuff was nasty... 

My kids got the DVD of that movie and I got so sick of hearing it at the time I could have broke the damn thing in half.  And it isn't like it just ended with the movie being over (for the 100th time), they had to go around singing the songs... and repeating some of the lines, like... Good Morning, Starshine, the sun says hello!  Or whatever it was... ~laughing~

Sooooo, that sleep study I was supposed to have Thursday night?  Didn't happen!  Our big ole hospital around here only has one sleep technician and she was out with the stomach bug!  So, do they push all patients back a day?  Heck no!  They reschedule me for February 4th! 

I called Arnot and left a message with the insurance person telling her that it had been rescheduled and I guess she must have taken pity on me.  She left a message for me at home that she was going to submit my paperwork to my insurance company without the pulmonary clearance So, I don't if the insurance company will accept it without the pulmonary clearance or if Arnot is just thinking that by the time the insurance company gets that far into the paperwork, they will have received the clearance.
