WLS Success-through Powerful Positive Attitudes
New Group Member Intro
I just posted my 'Crusade' post but I should probably introduce myself first...lol
My name is Saara, I had RNY on April 18, 2007. I lost 150 lbs and have been keeping it off. My weight did start to creep back up about a year ago, and this summer both myself and dh had surgery. A total hip replacement for me and dh had a nephrectomy, he had cancer. I've been off of work and have been able to do a lot of soul searching. I've made some very important changes. 1. I stopped dieting, and started to just make healthy choices. I know it's just semantics but diet has always had a negative connotation for me. 2. I no longer tell myself "I don't want to get fat" too negative. My new mantra is "I will stay trim and healthy".
This has been one Hell of a Summer (there was more than just our surgeries) but through pain and anguish comes strength. I am an avid beleiver in the power of positive thought, and what it can do.
I look forward to getting to know everyone, and learning from your successes.
Be Well my friends

I totally agree about "Dieting" As Garfield says diet is DIE with a T on the end. That is how so many people feel- If I can't have that I'll just die...
But on the contrary... if we focus on the things we CAN have we will do so much better. The benefit of that being that there is no forbidden foods... just wise choices and poor choices.
We can indulge in a poor choice food ONCE in a while. Just not every single day! The weight will come off and we will feel HEALTHY.
Great to have you here with us!
