Hi Everybody.

I am so glad that Yvonne invited me here.   I'm Suzy - live near Detroit, MI.  I'll be 46 yrs old tomorrow!!  Gosh.  I can't believe that.  Where did the time go?  I am married and mom to Andrew 9 yrs old and Ava 6 yrs old.  Also mommy to my dog MJ and cat "Kitty".

I am hoping to be scheduled for surgery in April (RNY) I am in the process of doing my 6 months of weigh ins with the dietician at my sugeon's office.  March will be the final one.  I am so ready to start my new life.   I am feeling kind of down today - not sure why.  Feeling EXTRA heavy today...and I have plantar fasciitis which has me gimping 80% of the time.

Well, I am off to my lunch supervisor duty at my kid's school.  I have the 2nd graders.  It's fun.  But would be so much easier and enjoyable if I wasn't so dang heavy!!!  I'll pop back in later today.

Welcome Suzy!

Nice to have you here with us. continue to do what you have to do pre-op and things will go easier post-op. By the time you have your surgery your issues with your feet will even feel better, every pound off is a blessing.

Have a good day!

HEY SUZY!!!!!!!

So glad you're here! I had surgery when I was 47 so you're a year younger than I was.  Happy Birthday early!!  I hope I have the brains to remember tomorrow but my brains are mush because I am sooooooooooooooo sick with the flu I guess.  I'm so glad you're doing something to extend your life for Andrew and Ava and for MJ and Kitty too!  I "loves" the 4 leggers!!!

I'm sorry you're feeling heavy....is it just your heart or are you feeling that way in your body?  It kind of goes hand in hand a lot.  Just like JEllen said though...as the pounds come off the pain will improve!  Pretty soon you'll be running circles around the 2nd graders!

Let me welcome you again and tell you how happy we are to have you here!
hugs, Y

Hello Suzy, my best girlfriend just moved to Michigan this year and

says that the winter there has been better then here in Iowa :)  Happy

Birthday tomorrow!! The waiting for the surgery is the difficult part

and the pre surgery stuff can seem overwhelming at times..but as

someone who is almost three months out of surgery let me tell you

this..the grass is greener on the other side. My knees and back feel

SO much better then they did before surgery and I feel better and

have more energy everyday. Foot problems are the worst because you

have to use your feet..but when you start dropping the pounds the pain

will just melt away for you. You are doing such an awesome thing for

you and your family..your children will thank you someday. I understand
about being at school with the kids..my daughters are 8 and 6 and I

always felt "extra heavy" when I went to. Now I dont have to feel that
way because I know that next year at this time I won't be the big ol

mama anymore..I will be the normal lookin mama..as normal as I am..lol

What a great way to start the spring..you will be amazed how fast you

will look and feel so much better! I know I am everyday. My husband

had surgery too and I can't believe how good he looks already and he is

only about 9 weeks out! We will save you a seat on the "losers" bench!!

Keep your chin up...smiles..Katie

That is so awesome that your hubby did it, too!  My dh sure could use it, but he has a fit if I dare suggest he look into it.    Hopefully I'll rub off on him.

Laugh I like how said you won't be the big ol mama anymore!!!  Keep that seat on the bench warm for me...

Thank you all for the warm welcomes!!!

This waiting is getting hard - to know what awaits me on the other side of the fence....it's just getting almost too much to bear.  lol.  I want to FEEL BETTER - I want to be able to go down to my basement without it being SUCH a chore.

I am already sick and tired of the snow here and we don't even have that much.  My whole "mood' the last few days is pretty sucky.  I wonder if it has anything to do with giving up full caffeine?? No headache (of course I am drinking "light" coffee) but I feel so tired - MORE tired than usual.

Oh well, eye on the prize!  And I am so glad I have this group to come to now :)...thanks again Yvonne!!

Oh sweetie, I forgot about the coffee/caffeine. No wonder!  I've basically got the flu and my brain is funky that I should stop typing.

Pretty soon you'll be going to the basement and not even giving it a second thought.  This is one of the really important parts.  When you are able to get to the basement with no struggle, don't forget.  A lot of post-ops forget....they forget about where they were and start taking the little things for granted.  We kinda go from this food high and then we get the "honeymoon period" where every time we turn around we're losing weight.  WOOO HOOO and then it stops and you say "what now??".  This is the point where you begin to live your life.  If you need to write in a journal so you can remember these things, I would do it.   Every time you are faced with something you dread (like the basement trip) write it down....write down how happy you'll be when you can do that with ease.  Each year out I often hear more people complain about little things that aren't of much consequence.  They forget about the little battles they've won and are feeling like there should be more.  When you reach that place it will be time to concentrate on the maintenance phase and if you look at each morning as a single every day blessing, you will be far more successful.

So Suzy...when you get down...just write.  We'll be here too.
hugs, Y
