Need some help

Ok, my VSG surgery is in one week from today.  I have been having the feeling and thoughts that everyone else seems to have befor surgery.  I am hoping that someone can answer a couple of my questions. Am I understanding people correctly when they say that you will have to take the little bites the rest of your life?  I worry that I will forget and then something will happen.  Also, is there a chance that the staples could pull apart?  I feel that I am going to worry all of the time that I am doing something that could jeopardize doing something inside once the operation is complete.  For instance we love to go on the lake and tube.  This is rough on the body at times.  Will I still be able to do this after a set period of time?  Sorry, but I am at the worrying stage. Thanks to all that respond and God Bless.

You will have a certain amount of time to eat properly to let your body heal but after that no worries!

Eventually you'll be able to eat more food but your stomach will mostly tell you to stop because you'll be full and if you don't catch it in time the worst that will happen is that you will throw up.  After you heal you'll be able to do anything you want physically.  See below!!

So don't worry and I'm sooooo glad you asked because that's why we are here!

Your so smart to ask these questions :) They are some of the same questions I think most people wonder before they have the surgery. I know I did. Im not eating tiny bites..but Im not eating huge bites either..I eat normally just a smaller amount. I have only gotten sick twice and both times I was eating WAY to fast..otherwise no problems at all. You will get to know your stomach all over again..its like a rebirth for your tummy. Its a very exciting time before your surgery..try not to worry too much. Your going to be able to do so much more activity as your losing weight as you will be feeling so much better. I don't do the stuff Yvonne does but I am already  more active with my kids and they love it :) No more worries..I will pray for you to have a safe surgery and a speedy recovery..God Bless..Katie

"I don't do the stuff Yvonne does"

HAHAHAHA! I'm thinking you aren't the first person that would say this nor the last!  I don't know why it struck me so funny but I was thinking it might be a great name for a country song!

That's funny...I think it must be a Texas thing to turn everything into a country song....I try to do it all the time.

LOL Yvonne...I didn't quite mean it that way!! I should have said that me on rollerblades or water skiing would mean hospital visits..lol..I am so not cordinated. I lived in Colorado for three years and my parents would never let me ski! I probably do alot of the same things you do

I know sweetie!  I was just being silly.  And hey don't assume that you would go to the hospital because you never know until you try.  You should have seen the guy in the store when I was buying the rollerblades!  I think you're adorable!
