My Wonderful PCP sent out a letter to his patients regarding his special efforts to aid in the fight against BREAST CANCER.
His wife had it  a number of years ago when their children were small.

When she lost her hair. HE shaved his head. Since her recovery he has participated in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in NYC every year. This is his 11th year.

Last year he &  (his patients- his friends) raised over $58,000 dollars for breast cancer research and to assist under insured, not insured women.

Due to the difficult economic times, I am not in a position to give as much as I normally do. I feel badly about this. However, I was thinking perhaps... some of you have loved ones who are enduring the treatment for Breast Cancer and are hoping for success.
perhaps some of you have lost dear loved ones to this loathsome disease.
Perhaps you would like the opportunity to donate a SMALL amount.

the NYC Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is Oct. 10/11.
You can go online to make a donation @ avonwalk.org

Participant's name: Dr. Michael M. Sheridan
Participant's # 981314

My heartfelt thanks to each of you....

Does it count if I contributed to two other people?  Please don't feel badly about not being able to give as much...your heart is in the right place and we are entirely too wired for finding a reason to feel guilt so stop that my darlin'.  Cancer is a loathsome disease...I was very angry at cancer for a couple of years.  I lost my mom to colon cancer and the last thing she told me was that she so wished I could learn to love myself and wow that was no where even close to happening.  It was 5 months later that I found out about WLS.  My mom never saw me as I am now but I know she knows I am where I am now.  Today I heard from someone that may be dealing with another type of cancer with their husband.  It is so horrible and yet there may be so much more on the horizon because obesity causes people to get cancer too.

You are awesome my friend.  I'm trying to get caught up here....thanks for your beautiful post.
hugs, Y

Yvonne.. so sorry to learn your Mom suffered with this awful disease.
I've watched a number of folks suffer and lose their battles through the years...
I pretty sure there isn't a limit on how many walkers a person can donate through. It all goes in the same pot.

Thanks... I'm writting my little check today.

.... btw... hope  you are feeling rested after your busy OH weekend and that your hubby is feeling more like himself!

Take Care - ya hear?
(add  southern accent- because ....
