I asked Yvonne the following Question:
How are you so darn cheery all the time?  Can I buy some some of what you are on? :)

Her answer:
I'm cheery because I had so much negativity for so long that I'm done with that.  I'm also very aware that when I allow the demons in my head to win that I will put myself in jeopardy for reoffending and going back to the insanity I lived for way too long.  It's just like anything else we do...we have to practice you know?  We practiced talking crap to our heads for so long that it takes some effort to reprogram our brains but it's not impossible.  Thank you for noticing....really.
hugs, Y

So... I will ask all of you the same question!  How do you stay positive and cheery?

Somewhere I read this suggestion to push negativity out of our lives...
Every morning look in the mirror and say something nice & loving to ourselves.
NOT:  you horrible creature you're ugly and stupid will never be a success..

Even if it sounds ridiculous--- Try: saying something like:  wow even though I've faced many discouraging & difficult tests I'm still a worthwhile person and I have many good qualities -- then list as many as you can think of...

it may be a short list in the beginning but as a person gets accustomed to saying positive things about themselves it gets easier...

IT'S SOOOOOOOO TRUE!!  Your subconscious does not know what is real and not. If you tell yourself things, it will believe.  You can reprogram your thinking and that's exactly what I did.  I start every day with a list and it's important to say it OUT LOUD.  It was hard in the beginning and it got easier and it definitely changed my life.  It takes practice because so many of us are not very good at it.  Some day when I have time, I'll tell everyone about the test they did on three basketball teams regarding the subconscious.  It is real.

Another thing...when we constantly focus on the lack of something, we bring it into our lives the same way.  Subconsciously.  If every morning you say "I don't have enough ________" you are programing your brain that you don't have it.  If instead you say "I am grateful for the _____  I have", you'll be amazed how much more abundant your life will be.

I look at it as filling up my glass with good stuff first thing in the morning to combat the bad stuff that creeps in during the day.  If you get a head start it works much better.  I'm not afraid of anyone questioning this so if you want, please ask questions.  I'm not the king here and we are open to discussion.  Someone very important in my life taught me this when I didn't believe it worked.  Wow was I wrong.  I love this quote...

"If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always gotten"

I believe God loves me completely and wholly, with no reservations, regardless of my state.  Feeling perfectly confident in His love makes me happy.  I know that, no matter what, I am loved.  It's pretty easy to feel happy in that.

Just so anyone *****ads this knows, I believe He loves every single one of us that way.

Let God's presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom
to sing, dance, praise, and love.  It is there for each and every one of us.

Kathy you are so fortunate because so many people think that God or the God of their understanding is something that is vengeful.  It heaps even more blame/shame/guilt/judgment in our lives that already have so much.  What an awesome outlook.  We are all one... the same...what we do to others, we do to ourselves and vice versa.

Amen!  I totally agree!  Today, I was reflecting on "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you" (Jeremiah 1:5)... and I am taken aback by the significance of that. ... that I have been (and ARE) LOVED all this time, (despite all my crazy choices)!!!  WOW!!!  God has confidence in me!!  Even when I don't have confidence in myself! AMAZING!!  I frequently ask, but who am I? - today I discovered that even Moses had this self- doubt!   Powerful stuff!

So to answer the original question, what makes me cheery, is resting in God's love, even if I don't feel very lovable to start with... He comes through every time.

ps What also amazing, is I'm not a "scripture quote-er" by any stretch of the imagination.  So the fact I could do that here is also amazing!

Amen!  All my strength and positive input is through my relationship with God and the faith and positive love that is found there.   It makes me a better wife, mother and friend.

I wanted to add that when I see things in a more positive way my fuse is not so short that I react to stress and anxiety and then feel the need to use something to self medicate the pain away.  If I have a "buffer" so to speak so that I don't sweat the small stuff, I can handle the possible triggers that make me want to harm myself by indulging in awful food.  No matter what your religious or spiritual beliefs are, they are your and yours only and are very personal.  I hate to see when people get involved in "My God is better than your God (or God of your understanding".  I pretty much avoid politics and religion because it tends to make us make statements that say "I am right and you are wrong".  I'm pretty sure I haven't posted this yet on this forum but one of the great rules about posting is this.  When you are ready to post, see if it pasts this test.
1. Is it true? (meaning you really know it, saw it, saw video or pictures ..not doctored pictures)
2. Is it kind?
3. Is it necessary

Sometimes people don't realize that when they make a black and white statement, they leave no room for anyone else's opinion.  We also end up writing off a person about one or more of the things about them when they may certainly have some awesome ideas for us.  For instance...you may have a certain prejudice against someone with tattoos and just because of that you cannot listen to them because they aren't exactly like you.  One of my favorites quote is:
"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

It basically says that you decide that someone is not worthy for some reason and you throw the baby out with bathwater yet we were always upset when someone was prejudiced against us for obesity.  We are all one....all precious souls of varying degrees.  For nasty people, learn what you can, feel compassion that you are not in their head and continue along your path to success but don't get bogged down with the blame and judgment of others.

I am so grateful for my second chance in life and I'm not going to let it get screwed up again because I Can handle anything as long as I have that part in my life under control.  We are all different but offering unconditional love to those that are "different" shows you are growing and evolving into a "highly evolved being".
Hugs, Y

Michael, I don't know if you have met Yvonne in person, but the bubbly person you see on all her videos is just a shadow of the bubbliness she exudes in person.  She brightens up a room when she walks in with her smile and her attitude.  What a ball of energy!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

I have not have the fortune of meeting her yet in person.  I have met some people on the boards, and there are others that I am planning on meeting (in my area).  Hopefully I will meet her in person someday!  Maybe she'll come up here towards the midwest during a big conference!

You have me really excited to meet her now!!!
