Hey all-

Following up on my post about "Putting Yourself First" I thought I'd check in to see how everyone was doing with that?

Let me share what I've done over the past few days because the more I talk about it, the more I remind myself how I'm putting myself first and hopefully that behavior will continue!!!  I had some making up to do since I hadn't been pampering myself so I made a weekend of it!  (sometimes we have to be selfish)

Saturday morning was spent with my husband and son at the football field celebrating opening day for our Elementary Football League.  Saturday afternoon my husband and I took a ride with some friends on the Harley and I just sat back and relaxed while the wind was blowing through my hair and my face was feeling the warmth of the sun.  Saturday late afternoon I treated my self and my husband to a pedicure.  Can you say Heaven...  Saturday night my husband and I went on a date, met up with some friends and watched a local band play outside.

Sunday afternoon I treated myself to a siesta.. (Naps should be mandatory everyday no matter how young/old)  Sunday evening I took some ME time, put my ear buds in (with my ipod) and read some more pages of my book.  Sunday night after all the laundry, dishes, vacuuming, getting everything ready for Monday, my son in bed, my  husband watching T.V. I again decided I needed some Traci time.  I ran a hot bath, turned off the lights in the bathroom and lit a candle.  OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH the sweetness.

Now that is a very NON typical weekend at my house but I felt like it was much overdue..

This beautiful Monday morning I got up a half hour early and took off for a 30min walk with the dog!

I'm feel alive and refreshed this A.M.

So for the rest of today my goal is to continue this pattern, take two 15min breaks at work, grab the ipod and go for a walk outside.

What did you do for yourself this weekend?  What will you do for yourself this week?

I challenge all of us to come up with some way to take care of yourself (pamper if you will) whatever makes you feel good and put a plan of action into play.  Make a list, post it on your computer, in your car, on the fridge, the mirror in the bathroom etc..  Set your watch, or outlook or phone to remind you if needed.

How will you put yourself first this week?  Will you drop us a line and let us know when you have put yourself first?

I hope everyone has an AWESOME day and enjoys this new challenge..  :)

Well my main objective for today is:  to stay cool.

Summer is finally upon us and I can't wait for cooler weather!
I can take the HEAT IF... and that is a BIG IF --
IF I can get in a pool to cool off...
otherwise the HEAT makes me SICK! My stomach gets all argumentative with me and then I can't eat at all...

So while  i realize that summer days up here in the NORTH are fleeting... when it gets over 90 with HIGH humidity I say - I DON'T LIKE IT! When I'm in florida in the HOT weather I was always in the pool 3 times a day- and felt great. Up here I have no pool access.

maybe I'll just sit near my A/C and get caught up on some reading.

We did manage to go off to the spring this am and fill all our water jugs. I took my water bottle & sipped away at it while I filled the gallon jugs. Our city water leaves alot to be desired.

so that's it! nothing spectacular... just keeping cool....
