Hello Everyone!!!  My name is Diane and I had VSG surgery on March 15Th of this year.  I have lost 56 lbs total to this date and I am extremely happy with my progress.  I live in Connecticut alone as I am separated and unfortunately unemployed at this time.  I am, however, in a good place at this time and look forward to all the positive support that will help me to continue on this journey in my new life!!!  I am hoping that the group with as many members as it has becomes more active and look forward to chatting and meeting all of you wonderful positive people going through your own journey!!

Hi Everyone!!

My name is Stacie and I am excited to be here. I am in the beginning stages of WLS, but am so happy to know that it is all happening.

I am a 34yo Wife & Mom. I have a wonderful husband and 2 great boys.

I decided on WLS many years ago, but never had the insurance to do it. Well now I do and I am so thrilled. I am doing it for me and my quality of life.

I am happy to know that this website is here for me to learn, get to know the great people that are here, and most of all be able to shae my journey as well as support others on their's.

I hope you all have a GREAT day!

Welcome!!  I don't get to hear of too many stories where someone actually gets the insurance after they've decided to have the surgery.  Congrats!!! I'm sooooooooo excited for you!!  You do need to do it for you and your health but there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to look and feel better too!  I know I mentioned it on the other post...I've been spread pretty thin so it's tough for me to be everywhere.  I really need to appoint an admin here to help me out!  Please also visit my Bariatric Facebook page at www.facebook.com/BariatricGirlPage and I'm looking forward to following your progress.
Hugs, Y

Hello all!
I am new to the group! Nice to meet you all I am a 26 year old female from the good ol' state of Montana! I am married to a wonderful man who is a great support for me. I am a total outdoors girl. I love to get out and fly fish, hunt, atv, hike, bird watch and just get out there and have fun. Lately that hasn't been able to happen do to now my size and just being plain embarrassed to go outside and do the things I love.
Sooooo...I am just setting up my ducks in a row to have the DS done sometime in the next 6 months or so. It's a lot of work to get all the information you need and set it all up. I am determined to do this and to have a better life.
If any have an amazing surgeon in the Idaho, Montana, Washington area let me know.
Nice to meet you all again!

Welcome! I can be an outdoors girl too and I actually call myself my father's favorite son because I did more stuff with him than my brothers.  You will be amazed at how much your life will change when you have the surgery and you will be able to go back to doing all that stuff.

The group has been very slow because I've just joined and started so many things.  I have moved most of my activity to facebook but I promise to do better.  Molly is here and she's so wonderful to still post even when I've been gone.  I have so many out of town trips planned this year and I have to sit down and decide how to manage my time better.  I'm so happy for you!!
hugs, Y

Hi,

My name is Joanne. I am being sleeved on Sept 19, 2011. I am looking forward to my weight loss journey. It is also nice to come to a place where there is  an over abundance of support.

Here is a little bit about me. I am almost 41. Married to the bestest guy in the world since 2003. We got together in 2000. We have two great kids, one we adopted she is 22 tomorrow and our little miracle who just turned 6 in August.

She is the real reason why I am doing this. I am looking forward to being thinner, but I really want to be able to do things with my little one, just not for her. I am tired of watching her grow up. I want to be with her and experience things with her. I look at her and my heart melts. it wouldn't be fair to her if i stay fat.

We have 3 fur-babies. Lolli-pup, she is a 1 1/2 y.o. something with a beard mix. Murphy he is 8 months old and thinks he is a lap dog. He is a lab mix and weighs over 60 lbs already. Then there is Neo, he is a 2 year old fat solid black cat. He is really cool. All of my "babies" are rescued.

Anyway, thanks for letting me in the group!

Hi Joanne.  I am so glad you are here and I'm going to have to apologize for not being around here enough lately.

I think it is so cool that you adopted and that you have a 6 year old.  What a wonderful thing you are doing for yourself and for your baby girl.  Of course I think you are an angel for all your fur babies being rescue.

Again I have gotten myself into too many places and this group has suffered and I'm using it mostly for notifying members of good info.  I'm so happy for you making this awesome step.  Please don't hesitate to message me any time and feel free to join me on my facebook page.  www.facebook.com/BariatricGirlPage

Hello Everyone,  My name is Lori and I'm new to the group.  I had WLS on 8/15/11 and have been doing great until about a week ago.  I have had tummy troubles (pressure and a lil upset/ache constantly, unless it's totally empty) for the past 8 days.  I have followed my Dr.'s orders perfectly, no eating of anything not recommended or too much.  I'm a bit worried as she mentioned a potential stricture, or possibly just something irritated my stomach.  I haven't eaten at all now for 4 days, and am having trouble getting my protein down.  Has anyone experienced this?

At any rate, I want to thank our leader for being such an inspiration and source of encouragement.  It is much appreciated!
