WELCOME Lisa!  58 pounds is awesome isn't it??  I'm so happy that you are doing something for yourself because being a mom to 4 is sometimes an overwhelming job and I don't know how you raise that many.  I'm in Dallas (Plano) but we've got members all over.  So glad you're here!
hugs, Y

Well, just a quick (maybe) introduction.  I am 67 years old, and married for 30 years, together for 31 years to my very best friend and loving husband.  He supports me totally in this WLS journey. He is very worried about my co-morbidities shortening my life.   I really did not gain weight until I was in my late 30's and quite smoking whereupon I gained 100 lbs. in a year and have continued to go up and down from there.  I have been on every weight loss plan devised by man.

I have always loved exercise but my weight has ddstroyed my back, knees,, etc.  I have had a spnal fusion, both knees replaced etc.   Last year on a hospittal, plan of  shakes I lost 60 lbs. but after getting off of the shakes I have put all but 6 lbs. back on.   When I was at my lowest, I was swimming a mile three days a week and doing weight training two days a week and playing golf 2-3 times a week.

Right now, I am swimming 1/2 to 1 mile 2- 3 days a week and hoping after this surgery to get back to weight training and golf.

Well I guess I did ramble on, but I so enjoy reading about everyone else and knowing that I am not alone in this battle.   I have no pets, but we have 5 children with 5 spouses and 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

One of my major goals is to go on a two month motorcycle trip on our Harley next July when My DH retires.  We will travel from Dayton, Ohio to Anchorage Alaska, down to Seattle Washington and then on back home.    Maybe I will get to meet some OH buddies alonng the way.
We must let go of what was if we are going to embrace what is !

WELCOME!!!  You know you've told a story of so many that lost the weight and gained it back.  You know you've got the discipline, you lost all that weight on shakes but you can't do that forever.  I failed at everything for 30 years until I got this miracle.  It's not a magic pill but it will allow you to get back to normal and then it's up to you maintain.  I figured that was an awesome trade!

I started playing golf about 8 years ago and they tell me I have a beautiful swing and I'm great at scrambles because I LOVE my driver but my short game is AWFUL!  I want to divorce my pitching wedge.  I know a lot of it is in my head but that's OK.  I go and hit balls for exercise.  I have no children but 5 cats and a dog.  We traded places I think.  I'm so glad you're here!  I wish we lived closer so I could play golf with you when you get back to the greens.
hugs, Y

Well it's not sooooo close but if you come to visit and want to play some golf or even just visit, I'm there!  It's about a 45 minute drive and that's nothing in this area!
