Well, yesterday, I had a real tough time getting in all my fluids & protein. Slept later than I should have got off to a late start.
soooo today- tried to get going earlier...
have some cottage cheese 2 TSBPs, scram eggs 2 Tbsps, and a small portion of mashed up pear (packed in its juice) seemed like it took me forever to manage that.

a while ago - just finished my am snack- protein shake- MediFast w scoop of Body Fortress- that gives me 40 grams protein. So at least I'm off to a good start.

but the pain in my left side is still there... I know I'll only be 2 weeks out tomorrow.... so i realize I'm doing Great... I'm just tired of that little discomfort.  I want to start doing stuff!

I have been digging through my clothes. Down in the basement i have clothes hanging on clothesline. From size 8 yes size 8 from the last time I lost weight years ago - to size 20! The 22/24 & a few 26/28's are up in my closet upstairs. Last night I gave away a bunch of stuff to a friend who is losing weight THE OTHER hard way- "diet & exercise".

I feel kinda bad for her though because yesterday she told me... that she has gotten to the point in her weight loss where SHE HAS ALWAYS STOPPED losing. I try to encourage her as much as I can - but i know what that is like.  I always got stuck at 164.

Of course, i'm a long way from that mark myself- but it will be interesting to see if i hit a plateau there again....

So for today - I'm taking it slow this am. Have followup appt with primary today. Will do a little shopping.
Drove yesterday for the 1st time since surgery... so weird... but it felt good to be back behind the wheel.

Depending on what my primary says today- I may return to work sat on a limited basis..

So that's it try to drink my fluids....
and REST!

hope you have a decent day....

sounds like u are doing great for so new out.  you know my doc told me that we can only absorb 30 grams of protein at a time, any more and it is just wasted. u might want to ask your doc. especially if u are counting that into your total of protein for the day.  keep up the good work. vick

Hi Vickie, I still have two months to go before I have surgery, so I'm not sure if I should keep my yap shut on the message boards until I have surgery. What is the proper etiquette? My insurance is requiring me to be on a doctor's supervised diet for three months before they will approve me for surgery. Today was the end of the first month of the diet and when she weighed me I had lost 24 pounds  since July 6, which seemed pretty cool to me.

addison, don't, i repeat, don't keep your yap shut. that is what this board is all about, the wls journey. and preparing to have the surgery is part of that journey.  i'm sure u must be having some questions about what to expect, so ask away. you might even have some emotions running around in that old brain that u need to share.  share away/111  we need u.  u are an important member of this group. come to the chat sessions. week after next monday is about plastic surgery and u might want to attend to leard about what u might want to do someday.  the 24 pounds lost is incredible, keep up the great work.  write me anytime or pm me if is too personal a nature for you. if i don't know the answer, i will find out if i can.  hang in there with the good works. what kind of diet are you on?      vick

Vicki's right!  Vicki's right!  Don't even think of keeping  your yap shut.  You have an opportunity that some didn't have.  You learned about this board early.  There is so much you can learn before your surgery.  Check out my profile for something I copied from someone on the Texas Message Board.  Things I know.  It can shed some light on a few things for you.

Ask questions.  and then after you have asked all the questions you can think of, think of some more.

thanks George it is good knowing I have plenty of resources for any questions I may have. I looked at the list on your profile and I will keep it handy. And I think I will check out the Texas Message Board too, I heard a lot of people talking about it. It seems a bunch of people from Texas have had WLS.

Here it is midnight, so my day is about half over.  Worked my part time job.  Watched Big Brother while I worked.  Now I am at my full time job and am surfing the net.  I work way too hard.  I get off work at 6:15AM, but have to hang around for an 8:30 employee meeting.  I am being recognized for 10 years service, so I figured I would go for a change.

I have been eating pretty good, weight staying steady.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
