OK, what's your stinkin' thinkin' telling you??

Oh Vick...it's really important not to dwell on things that bring us down.  You do need to be grateful my darling for that health because without that, we have nothing.  I have said many times that I spent 30 years covering up (well trying to cover up) my obesity so covering some loose skin is much easier.  As we get older we have to understand that we will rarely look as good as some point earlier in our lives but that's just not what "life" is all about.  Love yourself and be happy.  Live in the moment and be happy right now because now is all we've got.  So glad you're here Vick.

I for one am proud of your success. You are an amazing person, and I appreciate all the information you provide here on OH, and the helpful links on your page.
If they seen both videos they should have known you popped two different numbers.
Anyone who can't see how far you have come with your new life must be either blind, or have their head on backwards.
We all have the dreaded stinkin thinkin at one time or another.
My worst habit tho is the foot in mouth disease, lol.

Oh JustMeee, we all have our things we do huh?  We can always work on those things too!  Thanks for your very kind words and I'm so pleased each time I see a response and I think I've been a little wordy today!! I'm going to try to be more brief for at least the rest of the day.  And for those that know me...they'll say  "yeah right".  Again, thank you so much!!

Yvonne- it is so good to know that you still have your stinkin thinkin moments.... and that is what they stay - because you don't let them rule you!

All of us will have negative thoughts from time to time.
However, we choose to either let negativity control us or we control it.

It would be great if there were a little pill pop one in the morning- drink it down with your coffee or juice and not have one negative thought all day. HA! we don't NEED another pill to take!

WE need MIND CONTROL.
It's our Mind!
We choose to control it
or NOT...

we choose the outcome...

HERE is my example:

recently while at the surgeons office waiting with other LARGE people in walks this long-legged Slim person!

My very first thought

WHAT IS SHE DOING HERE???

then i noticed she appeared to be in some discomfort/pain my thought immediately went --- oh she is a POST-OP that is experiencing complications.... oh  I hope she feels better...

My first reaction was based on my feelings of being obese- the second reaction was out of concern for
HER.

Shift gears - get out of the rut- stop spinning wheels in negativity and move on down the road.....

You know...I kinda do have that pill...and it works for the most part...we all have ups and downs.  And Ramon does this too.  Every morning I get up and walk my dog and I say out loud my grateful list.  It goes in the stress jar to empty it out some so that I can get a head start on the day.  I am the most positive person there is until it comes to beating myself up.

Thanks for sharing that observation in the waiting room.  That was very sweet of you to overcome those thoughts and see her in a new light.  I wish sometimes even on the board that we could get to know each other's stories more before we jump on each other.  I'd rather be wrong and let someone take advantage of me than to think wrongly of them...I'm just that way.  You are special that you thought through that and realized what was going on.  Bless your heart for having the compassion for her.

Ramon posts a Grateful post every morning on the Texas Board and the Main Board and maybe if we ask real nice, we can get him to start doing it here too.
hugs, Y

As addicts, yes we were and are food addicts we must  remember “The addict has an intense experience and believes it is a moment of intimacy,"

Craig Nakken, author of “The Addictive Personality" explains:

“Addiction is a process of buying into false and empty promises: the false promise of relief, the false promise of emotional security, the false sense of fulfillment, and the false sense of intimacy with the world….Like any other major illness, addiction is an experience that changes people in permanent ways.

As a recovering addict I love this info..

This is a huge part of my stinking thinking..

I love that explanation.  Of course you already know my favorite definition of addiction:

Uncontrolled use despite negative consequences.

REALIZE Band on 02/20/09 with
You aren't letting them rent space in your head...

The evil Fat Monsters are trying to still control your brain!  30 years of obesity compared to 8 years of being healthy.   I'm sure some have left you, but there are still those few stubborn ones that just wont get out.  Tip your head over and shake really hard!

Seriously though, YOU know you are doing great, helping others, and if someone REALLY cares about 1% they can go take a swim.

My Craziness is this:

I STILL am wearing the same size clothes after all the weight I have lost so far.  People tell me they are falling off, but I'm too thrilled with the fact that they fit, albeit very loosely, but they fit!  I can wash and dry them, then just grab it out of the closet and put them on!  I'm going to be 200lbs in a 5 and 6XLT.

Hey Mike, I'm going to rat out Ramon on when he did the same thing.  This is a picture of the day that Ramon met the mayor of Dallas and I told Ramon the same thing.  He said he liked wearing his shirts bigger but he got over it.  Now he's Mr. GQ.  Mike you'll head will adjust eventually.

This was very early in his journey.  It takes a while for our heads to catch up with our body.  I love the tip your head over sentence so it's tipped and I'm shaking it hard!  Thanks Mike.
hugs, Y
