welll good morning to you all.  it was a blistering 102 here in amarillo, tx yesterday and we expect 103 today. for those of you who don't know, amarillo is in the panhandle of texas, god's country.  i go on the 22nd of this  month to see my daughter in san antonio, so i guess this is just good preparation,  we have been watching our grandkids during the day for the entire month of july and it has been fun and tiring.  i have been riding bikes, playing basket ball and other fun things that i could not have been doing if it hadn't been for my 100 plus weight loss.  thanks to all the help from oh.  i am hoping that from this group i can take my relationships a little deeper.  so hey, wake up and post. i want to get to know you better.  i have a hernia right now and it should be taken care of in aug or sept, i will get my panni taken care of at the same time. sort of worries me because i will only be about 7-8 months out at the time.  doc wants me at 160 and i am about 16 lbs off. don't know if i can make goal in time because  i sure have slowed down in losing a lot.  i  am just grateful to be losing anything at all. well, not really, i want to lose more if i am honest. lol.   take care all and remember to POST.  i want to get to know you. vick

And WE want to get to know you too!
Are you driving to San Antonio?? Wow, if you are, that's one long trip.

OK, here's a tip on losing that 16 pounds.  I want you to visualize 160 when you get on the scale.  I mean...right before you step on, I want you to say 160 and visualize that number.  I also want you to think to yourself that you KNOW you will be there by September.  This might sound a little nuts but I promise this works.  Believe it.  It's a really long explanation and I'll get to it later but instead of stressing and saying "OH MY GOD, I'll never make it" I want you to say "I got it made in the shade".  And yes you have slowed down but you haven't finished losing.

Are you making sure to eat something for breakfast?? Protein shake or something?? VERY VERY important.  When you sleep all night and then get up and don't eat, it throws you body into starvation mode and holds on to those calories better than normal.  It's very important to eat breakfast.

I want you to see what you want ...picture a road with your goal at the end.  Not just goal weight but general goals.  When things happen that cause you to veer off the path, go around them and don't take part in goal destructive behavior...things that keep you from walking straight to what you want more than anything else.

Let's see, let me tell you something about myself.  I am an avid animal lover.  Here's a little video about a kitten that I rescued.  He's adorable.

And then here's a beautiful video about my dog.  It's about how important it is to pick a rescue dog.  I hope you'll like it.

So there's a start.
So glad you're here Vick.
hugs, Y
