My Journey to Guadalajara

Hello Everyone.  I created this group so that someone might be inspired past the discouragement of being told that their insurance said now.  I am having WLS in Guadalajara on July 1st and would like for you to share my journey and share your own journey as well.

Andrea,

I am seriously considering this route.  Perhaps more than trepidation about having surgery in Mexico, I'm concerned about my recovery at home.  I would like to hear from people who have had the surgery in Mexico, specifically, if possible, at the Mexico Bariatric Center in Tijuana. Because my insurance provider will not cover ANY type of bariatric surgery, they would balk, I'm sure, at covering any type of follow-up care.  My funds are limited (hence Mexico) and I need to consider post-surgery costs.

Regardless of where the surgery took place, I'd like to know how long should I anticipate being out of work?

Thanks!

Who is the Dr in Tijuana? I am going to Dr Castaneda Cruz. He has offices in both Guadalajara and Tijuana. I am planning on going back to work 1 week post op but I have a desk job. It would depend on your tolerance and the type of work you do. Some ppl wait the full 6 weeks. Whatever you decide do lots of research! Hope this helps!
