After Weight Loss Surgery
now what???posted 2/8/14 8:58 am that was my statement many times after my 200 lb weight loss. I had Gastric Bypass March of 2008, lost 203lbs and was left with they call an apron around my waist and wings on my upper arms. Causing rashing, hip dislocation and general discomfort and difficulty. For 3 years i visited doctors and surgeons, one would tell me to lose another 40lbs, another told me not to worry, hip replacements are covered under British Columbian health care. I was told it would be about ,000 for my apron and would take 3 to 4 surgeries to have it done. ,000.00 DOLLARS!!! seriously"??? where was I going to get that type of money. Then I started to investigate alternatives. I found that since the Canadian and US dollars are strong in latin america, the same surgery can be done at a tenth of the price (at least!) Now how to find a surgeon, online are lots of claims good and bad. I decided to go and meet doctors and get a feel for who they are and the work they do. What is the hospital like?? What kind of follow up do they offer. Are there services to asssit me.
I finally found a great surgeon, half way through my plastic surgery journey and LOVING LOVING LOVING my new shape :) I want to share info and ideas, suggestions and assistance to all my fellow weight loss family who have now come to a new challenge. What to do with all that skin hanging around. 0 Responses to "now what???"Be the first to comment!Sign in to comment! Login Now. << Blog Home |
