Yay for leftovers and not having to cook!

Seems like all the daily active people will be retired after next week!
I have bounced around mostly in a 2 pound band since last August. Depends on what I ate the day before (salty or not), the weather, and my bathroom trips.

It will be interesting to see if your summer sleep patterns become your year round pattern. I find that the sun rising has a big effect on me - I rarely can sleep later than that. However in the winter when the sun rises later I still get up around 6:30 even though I hate doing so in the dark. 7 seems indulgent to me LOL.
I bet the next time you have a day when you eat a lot more than you are now your body will suddenly shed some more weight. It's probably holding on for dear life in case you are being starved.

Greetings all
Foggy morning turned into a sunny afternoon. I ran out of claritin and DH was kind enough to go get some as soon as the pharmacy opened. My sinuses are in overdrive these days and I am thinking I might need to see the allergist or ent doctor. Yuck.
So after a snuffly morning I got organized and did walking and ran various errands. Paula I sent your slug!
Interesting Liz that the butterfly farm was so hot. I went to a butterfly garden in Mexico once - I think it was at Xcaret (sp?). It was wonderful and pretty big with little waterfalls and mist and yeah it was hot. And hey, we used to watch all the planes come in here as the flight path is just east of our house, but the trees are getting too big. If I was expecting a guest I jus****ched out the window to know when to go to the airport. Enjoy you friends.
Peps I swear your scale is messing with you. And have a great trip.
Paula those are high priced cakes!! Who knew. Everything is so pricy these days. Have a great party.
DD I am with you - a lounger by nature. But soon you will indeed feel much lighter. Nice that your DD "shares" lots. We are eager to hear if there is date #3.
Gallery duty tomorrow and my car is loaded with boxes of paper bags and supplies. I am hoping I can get the other worker to carry them in. It will likely be busy up there. I got caught up on banking but there will be more tomorrow.
DH brought home pizza from lunch so that is that.

124.6 on my scale. I'm staying pretty consistent within a pound which is what one wants during maintenance!
Started off the day with a walk with DH. 2.4 miles on 39 minutes. Moving is good for both of us!
We have a retirement party to attend tonight. It will be at a park and they are having it catered (Mexican I think) and having a band. Very cloudy today and temps only in the low 70's but at least no rain.
DSD and DS2 and friend will be getting here later this evening. DS3 is still here until tomorrow night. We will all go out to a fancy restaurant tomorrow night for a belated birthday celebration for DC1. They wanted a cake from a boutique bakery here in town but a small 6 inch one is over $40 and we would need 2 to feed the crowd. I opted to go get them a slice (still over $14) and will serve brownies and/or dilly bars to the rest of the crowd!
Will everyone here be retired soon then? I don't remember anyone else still working!
200.8 For Heaven's Sake!!!! This last bit is being as stubborn as a barn sour mule with a bad hoof! I don't think I can eat any less than I am, so I just have to let it be. This nice thing is that I have not had a uptick in weigh this week, which is the norm over the school week. Gee, go figure. No school, no rise in weight. Amazing, right???
Summer sleep pattern has taken over. I've been going to bed around 12:30am and getting up between 8 and 9. I'm okay with getting up at 8, but close to 9 seems a little too luxurious and self indulgent. This morning I started waking up around 5:30am and was in and out until I got up at 7:00 to pee. Went back to bed and dozed on and off until about 9. Maybe that in and out dozing is not as restful??? I'm just not a great sleeper. I can't remember the last time I actually slept through the night without waking.
Lots to do before taking off on our trip Sunday. Of course, I am procrastinating. LOL! I will get it all done, no worries there. I'll be doing a lot tomorrow night, I'm sure of it.
Seems like everyone is getting into summer mode. Wonderful. CC, hope you are less sore today. I do have to laugh at how he took you down. I know it wasn't funny to you, but if you picture it as a FaceBook reel, you might see the humor! Hugs....
Liz, the view at that restaurant is lovely. Lucky you!
DH never golfs on vacation since he golfs 2-3 times a week year round. I am happy with a good book for a long period of time.

I guess it makes sense a butterfly farm might be hot, inland I assume? Well now you've been :) Is golf not a part of Aruba life? I get the restless husband challenge. Since DH still does physical work 4 mornings a week, he is often ready for rest when we go on vacation. And he will get into a book, so that can keep him by the pool or beach for awhile. But once he's rested a day or two he wants to go! I feel like I should be in a rest camp some days, and I'm a lounger by nature, so... the kids used to be his go go buddies. I'm betting I'll be more go go too once the weight and worry of my job slides off my shoulders.
We ask our kids lots of questions, but try not be over eager when they mention a date LOL. All in good time right? DD is an open book, and sometimes tells us more than we want to know, so we'll hear soon enough if the young man warranted a 3rd date. DS is not the same level of disclosure. He's not a big talker historically, until you get him in the car. He likes to send us pictures via text of scenery when he's someplace scenic, which is sweet, but sometimes confusing. Last night it was a creek at sunset. Is he biking, hiking, fishing, camping? Or a Canadian flag. Is he in Toronto for work? DD would send the picture, tell us what she's doing, who is along for the trip, and what she's going to have for dinner. :)
Liz its lovely your son has grown attached to DH. Your DS sounds like someone who is loyal, and loves deeply, so once you're in with him, you're really in.
Doing some laundry right now and thinking about what food to bring to my parent's house. I'm not sure what tasks we are going to do, but I'm trying to remain flexible.
115-118.6. That balance scale is getting way off. I guess I should just use the floor scale. I probably should have started off that way but it seemed a bit heavier the first day than I expected (120 when I had been 118.2 two days before). What a fixation on the scale numbers! Anyway if I just use the floor scale maybe I will get a pleasant surprise when I get home LOL.
The Butterfly Farm was interesting but HOT, HOT, HOT. Did I mention that it was HOT? It is a small place and half of it has water running to make it more humid like a rain forest. Which of course contributes to the overall sweatiness. I did get lots of good pictures but could only stay just so long because of the heat. There was a nice young man who talked about the chrysalises and the cocoons, caterpillars and butterflies which we enjoyed. Before that we had lunch at Linda's Dutch Pancakes. I like Dutch pancakes but they are just too much for me to have more than a few bites so I had an omelette. After the butterflies, we stopped at a casual restaurant on the water for something to drink. It is quite near the airport where you can sit on stools facing out toward the water and the flight path. We saw our friend's plane come in, paid our bill, then drove to the airport. I stayed at the car in the pickup area while DH went to find them and they were just coming out the door. Well orchestrated pickup!
Last night we ate next to the lighthouse at the best high point on the island to get a view. Dinner was quite good with nice service. We were happy we went.
Today I am doing chair yoga after our walk, then maybe water aerobics (not sure it is going to be held today). Also not sure of dinner tonight but will probably do something with our friends. They were exhausted last night after getting only 2 hours of sleep the night before so they got a takeout meal at the restaurant here. Their DD, SIL, and grandson arrive tomorrow.
Have a friendly Friday!
