Liz, impressive job with the router. It seems you and CC have the fix it skills. I feel like my whole life could have moved up another level if only I had learned to build shelves. I guess its not too late.

Thanks for the Snow White review Peps. It got such crazy press I had intended to view it, just to see for myself what all the hubbub was about.

Paula, I can see why you miss your friends. There is such comfort in the presence of people who know everything about you: the good, the bad, the ugly. No need for pretense, just authenticity.

Today was Graceland. I ran out of steam before DH, and sat on a shady bench, enjoying the heat while he got his fill. It's a very American phenomenon I think. I can't think of any hero, a president, a pope, a saint, an artist that generates this level of fascination. I could take it or leave it, but some parts are interesting. I liked looking at all his stage costumes the most, especially from the 1968 Special. The cars and airplanes, not so much. And the gift shops! There are multiple themed gift shops. I bypassed them all, but DH cannot resist a souvenir magnet.

Not sure what we will do this evening, as the threatening storms are here. Last night we did get back to Beale Street and listened to Earl the Pearl, a Beale Street legend. Amazing. In between sets we chatted with a couple from London, and then another couple from Hawaii. The people from Hawaii said they'd been traveling for the last 20 years, and that they were in their mid 80s. They were quite vibrant and interesting. My Mom at 83 has been without functional mobility for several years now. Some has been bad luck such as cancer, some, not great choices. I can't know what's coming my way, but I am going to try my best to be in my mid 80s, listening to incredible blues bands in somewhat divey bars.

Tasty Costco find. Little individual packs of cooked steak bites for 20g of protein each. I'm very sensitive to mystery chunks in cooked meats and this all seems good quality and tender. Lightly seasoned. I'll be getting these again! Expiration date is in 24 days from yesterday, so it's not something I have to speed through.

126.8, but on Mom?s scale not mine at home.

Dinner out with my besties last night was fun. Always good catching up with them. We have been a threesome since high school, in each other?s weddings, carried each other through miscarriages, moving, divorce, problems with kids, cancer and death! Just the best of friends! Wish I lived closer to them at times!

Long day sitting with Mom today but at least there was a little music program in the afternoon with an old guy with a guitar singing old country tunes, hymns and patriotic songs. The residents at the nursing home seemed to enjoy it and I was happy to get out of her room for a little bit. I?m back at her apartment in the assisted living facility and will give it a through cleaning before leaving tomorrow. My plan is to visit her once more for a few hours in the morning and then head home. DH says the puppies are missing me!

205.2

I pouted a bit yesterday after my DEXA scan results. Pouting included eating 2 pastries. Otherwise my food was spot on for the day. LOL! Otherwise.... I crack myself up sometimes. I love how engrained the eating disordered thinking is: "Body fat high??? F that! After all the work you've put in....F that! Eat some pastries!" But, I do concede that the pastries were well worth it. They were DELICIOUS.

Beautiful blue skies today after several days of gray and icky weather.

The TT Facebook page is weird. Not sure what's going on with that. I put a test post on it and it appears to have gone through. But it's the first of 3 posts to make go through. I also got a weird post from Bonnie H. on my feed supposedly made on the TT page, but when I went to look for it, it wasn't there.

On the docket today: Grooming, visiting dad, working on a dog club newsletter (yes a new chore I took on...), and a leg workout.

Saw Disney's Snow White last night (that is how the pastries came into play...wandering the street to find a place to eat we found the bakery!). It's a charming movie and I loved the updated ending and the rewrite of the Snow White character as someone *****discovered her inner strength to overcome oppression. Blatantly obvious, too, was the lack of a Prince Charming. Snow White needed no rescuing, so a partnership with a handsome bandit was created instead.

Winsome AND Winning Wednesday to all!

120.8 - good, but of course I would be more comfortable down a pound where I had been lingering before my trip.

Yesterday I set up a new mesh router to hopefully improve our internet speed on the lanai. It says simple setup instructions but of course it wasn't simple at all. But I did get it up and running well by the end of the day so we shall see if it helps.

Golf yesterday afternoon with DH was okay. Some good shots and some horrible ones. Putting was a problem at almost all holes. Maybe I should practice this afternoon?

I need to figure out something for dinner. DH cooked grouper last night. It was okay but not great as I didn't like the spice he used - too salty. Not enjoyable enough for expensive fish IMO. I may haul out my old WW recipes to find something.

Time to think about an early Justice walk before driving DH to golf. I hate how dark it is in the morning. The sun rises here at 7:10, though it rises on Cape Cod at 6:22. Of course it is 40 degrees warmer here.

Have a winsome Wednesday!

What a pain having to deal with that Costco nonsense. Good to know that Eli Lilly was helpful. I will probably buy vials from them once I use up my existing supply. Since I am on Medicare my insurance shouldn't be run at all.

From the 80's to the 40's is one drastic change! And I complain about a 15 degree change...

Sounds like you are having a good time!

I admit that I always thought Tina was the star and Ike just used (and abused her). Somewhat interesting to hear that he had talent too, but boy Tina was Simply the Best!
