Sunday breakfast, bed stripped, sheets washing, vacuumed, tidied. A good Sunday morning! It's going to be warm here today. South wind means hot and more humid.

The temporary RV park next door was active with a Margaritaville sing along at 11:15pm. I might have slammed my bedroom window forcefully to express my displeasure. Go down to the beach if you want to do that or do it earlier!

Not much else on the docket for today. Maybe a trip to the recycle bins in town and sitting outside a while under the umbrella...

Happy Birthday DD!!!!

The bus leaves at 7:30 for breakfast, but it is only 6:30 now. We actually get to stay in town for the next week! I am looking forward to that. Between Friday and yesterday we spent almost 9 hours in the car.

The dress fitting was successful: DD looks lovely in her dress. She is adding some dropped sleeves and she chose a long veil bordered with lace from the two she had purchased. It will look so beautiful on the beach during the ceremony. Her dress has lacing on the back which allows the dress to be fitted perfectly to her body. The seamstress said that it is a great feature for curvy bodies. Afterwards we went with DD and 2 young women from her bridal party for lunch on a lake. DD surprised me by telling me that she and fiancé are already looking at homes on lakes in her area to purchase, though probably not until next year. Her fiancé already owns the home they are in and hasn't decided whether to rent it or sell it.

We thought we were heading back late enough in the afternoon to avoid most bridge traffic but it was still a 2.5 mile backup at the bridge as we were approaching it. So we got off the main road and had a ****tail and split a stuffed quahog at a tiki bar to give it more time. Cool little place - it is rare to find something like that in the Northeast unlike Florida where they are everywhere. I love tiki bars! We still had some traffic to deal with when we headed out an hour later but it wasn't too bad. DS made dinner last night which was wonderful as we wanted to stay put once home.

Today looks like a possible beach day though we also need to get Justice out for a decent walk. He is full of energy this morning!

Have a saltigrade Sunday!

I hope that good REM sleep refreshes Molly for tomorrow. Many years ago I read an article about whether dogs dream by some author who thought it was a big revelation that they did. Clearly they had not had pets and watched them running or barking in their sleep LOL.

It was wonderfully amazingly chilly here this morning...I snuggled under the comforter for a while before I got up, unable to believe this was late July in the CA Bay Area...

I LOVE the whole French thing...I lived in Paris for a few months when I was 19, with a family who basically adopted me and my travelling friend. The family were her parents' neighbor-down-the-street's sister, whose name we had only for emergencies. They tracked us down through my friend's parents, called us while we were renting a truly awful hovel of an unheated room and shared disgusting bathroom and INSISTED we stay with them, at no charge, of course. They took care of us like we were their daughters. It was an unbelievable experience, and I will never forget their kindness.

My DH and I took OUR daughter to Paris when she was about 7 for a forced cultural experience, lol, and I've been again in passing, but I hadn't spent any "relaxed" time there until this last May, when I took a trip with my BFF to meet up with college friends. We walked and walked and saw the city getting ready for the games...and I felt like I was reliving my youth.

J'aime Paris!

We will still be in the same general area (SEKansas) just moving from out in the country side to the next near county over and into town much closer to the kiddos.

Wisconsin reminds me a little bit of Minnesota, except more trees and a few more hills.... However, I oddly fell in love with Nebraska on my drive through. Something about Nebraska topography speaks to me. Very gentle rolling hills, cottonwood trees, corn and soybean fields. It is farm country and tugs at my rural heart strings.

I introduced myself to a delicious dessert treat known as Frozen Custard. I know, I know... so basic here is in Wisconsin and the mid west, but we don't have it in CA (at least not in my area and the one local frozen custard I tried was NOT this delicacy). There is a Kopp's across the road from the hotel. When I mentioned it all my dog show friends said it was a MUST DO! So, I did. Kopp's lived up to every last accolade! The sad thing is I was only able to eat a very little bit. It's quite rich, and on the meds my gut does not allow over indulgence in sweets. So, so sad to watch it melt and get wasted, but I loved each of my half dozen or so bites. I will try again on an empty stomach! LOL

Today was filled with dog show events - lunches, raffles, a dinner banquet...

Day one of dog show was eh.... Molly gave me the finger and behaved like a dullard. She still made the ribbons, but barely. I am hoping since she has slept most of the day now, she'll be more engaged tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

I was a bit happy and annoyed all at the same time today when I put on my new suit. The jacket fit like a glove. The damn trousers were already too loose. I hate it when my pants bunch up at the waist from the belt, but they have to stay up when I'm in the ring! LOL!

Molly is contentedly in REM sleep. Her little feet are twitching and I suppose it's time for me to hit the sack, too. Have to be up early...

Greetings

Nice day today. I was chilled this morning so i have layers. Not needed now.

Cinnamon rolls! Too bad you could not just go by and smell them. But that would mean eating them. Maybe pretend they are an airport Cinnebon and just walk by and smell. And hey CC, bet that skunk was named "Karma" LOL.

Hearing Liz - yeah I think we all eventually face that issue. I am like you and have a hard time in noisy venues. But I have always been that way. Always disliked loud bars when I was younger because it was impossible to converse. I value listening and really hate how all conversations these days become a series of interruptions. TV interviewers do that now and it drives me nuts. Let the person finish their answer which is probably the best part. Enjoy the dress fitting.

Yep we watched part of the Olympic opening last night but got to tired so the rest tonight. I gotta admit I like all the weird French artsy stuff. Like all the windows full of Marie Antionttes holding heads. What I really want to see is the Eiffel tower light show. Many years ago I was in Paris and went to the tower and it was closed. Turns out it was the 100 year anniversary of the tower and they were preparing for an evening event. It was a fabulous light show with smoke blown in and lights and helicopters. It was awesome. So I am looking forward to seeing it on the Tivo.

Bonnie sounds like your day is olympic scheduled. Preferable to ancient aliens.

Paula hope you learn from checking out that fair. Yep some art venues get too snooty or overwrought and effectively shoot themselves in the foot. The big one here is starting to do that. Too much of a bother for artists.

Hamburgers tonight which will take a small amount of prep on my part. At least I know the recipe....

Weight exactly the same today.

Went to the church garden today and did a little harvesting of peas, beans, yellow squash and cucumbers! More of that on Wednesday.

Tomorrow I will check out a local fine art fair. I didn't apply for this one as the entry fee was quite high and they had so many rules for photographers. I'm anxious to see what the photographers there offer as everything has to be limited edition at this fair. I know many of the same rules apply to the Florida shows so I need to figure out possible work arounds!

Peps, I hope your travels are going well. WI is going to be hot this coming week!

Liz, hope the dress fitting goes well. I'm getting excited to go wedding dress shopping with DSD the end of next month!

Time to shower after being in the garden and then figure out lunch. I'm thinking probably yogurt with blueberries and almonds!
