My mom's friend was a 4th grade teacher and each year had her students write out the lyrics to the Star Spangled Banner. Some of the misunderstandings of the words were wonderful. "Donzerly light" was a frequent occurrence.
119.2 - official weight for the week
I spoke with DD again last night. She does want to go the OR route but the scheduling might mean that I cannot go. She said I didn't have to but then asked if I would be available by phone in case something came up and her husband wasn't sure what to do. I will be in BVI from 3/13-3/24 and on a boat most of that time. I believe we will be on or near islands most days so hopefully I will be able to receive phone calls.
A friend called in panic yesterday looking for a recommendation because she had to fire the person painting the interior of the new home. They plan to move into it in a couple of weeks, and this was the last step of the interior renovations they have had done. Apparently when they went to the house on Monday it was obvious that the painter had been smoking pot in their home. They told her that was not accceptable and that they would have to let her go if it happened again. So yesterday when they stopped by the house was all stinky again! This painter must not be the brightest because they live just around the corner so stop by frequently. Our painter/handyman is completely trustworthy and has a bit of OCD about making sure his work is perfect so I was happy to recommend him.
Today looks like it will be another beautiful day. I have yoga after we walk Justice. DH has a cardiology appointment, then I will go to the practice range with my friend (we rescheduled from yesterday). Not sure about dinner/evening plans.
Have a friendly Friday!

Anything accomplished on a post-retirement day makes it a productive day LOL!

I guess kids definitely say the darndest things. There must be sites with similar quotes. We used to trade people's comments on insurance accident reports around. Messing up grammar sometimes led to very funny descriptions.

We should take credit!

I look forward to what both you and Ann say everyday. In fact I look forward to all the musings from all the tribe. Sometimes we talk of deeply profound things, sometimes just the day's minutia. I love both, but I find the minutia to be like comfort food, satisfying and heartwarming.
I like to write down some of the best ones. One of my favorites, 14 years old, on the spectrum:
Me: George this project is due in a few days. Where are you at? I'm getting worried.
George: You should be. ( Died laughing after I walked away.)
Or another ASD student walks into the classroom. I'm wearing a sleeveless dress. The student with total sincerity: Oh Mrs. DD, you look so pretty. I've never seen your arms before. (Its true, I usually wear a cardigan with sleeveless dresses because I'm always cold)
Those kiddos crack me up. In the beginning of my career I would get flustered by questions like that. Now, I'd say something smart ass right back like, "No, what does it taste like?" or "Of course, tastes just like chicken!" or "EARWAX? You don't ask a gentleman about his earwax! It's like asking a lady her age!" Then move things right along.
P. S. The Duke Farms eagle camera is a good one and there are two newly hatched chicks plus a third egg. Enjoy.
Greetings Peeps, Peps and Pups
All is well here on a sunny and almost warm day. I bet it is in the 60's. Started the day trying to do my real ID app. Of course the web site asks questions and the correct answer is not an option. Drives me nuts. Got DH to help. They did not like my birth certificate even though it is a certified copy. Later they changed their mind as DH send in something else. Go figure. DH would rather mess with the computer for hours than to find a real person. Oh well. We have appointments in March. After that I did walking at the gym. Listened to Roberta Flack. What a treasure. I also went to the despised CVS to get my favorite coffee as tomorrow is Buy Nothing day. Score! My favorite kind was on sale and they had lots. After that it was studio time and I started new projects. So it was a productive day by my albeit low standards, DH is now engrossed in Dr. Who.
Liz we all have you and your DD on our minds. Hope there is something decided soon. Good of you to help the new golfer.
DD what a weird question from the kid. How do you keep from laughing at some of this?
Peps those puppies are adorable. I hope you get to pick. Sweet.
CC all I can think of from your post is "stinky wind" but I know thats not what it said. Enjoy the dinner.
70 eye drops into healing. Only about 120 to go.
Deli roast chicken tonight. Made myself buy one so we are forced to eat healthy instead of caving in to mac and cheese. Also got green beans.
Well Ann, just because nothing interesting has happened does not mean you can't post. Does not stop me. Hope you get some sleep tonight.
Paula also thinking good thoughts for your DC1. Life is hard enough without mental health issues.
Peace all. Over and out. Diane S
