132.9. Still not eating much. Will skip my dose on Sunday as well.

Feeling just a little better but still very sick. I half think I may have strep throat on top of Covid with how bad my throat hurts, I just don't have it in me to go and get swabbed.

Thankful for the soup my friend brought over but what an odd presentation. It was chicken noodle soup but with whole chicken legs on top. How do you eat that? I ended up taking the legs out, removing the meat and putting it back in the soup. I can't stomach chicken skin (especially if not crunchy) so this was a must. A quick Google search showed that whole leg chicken noodle soup is indeed a thing. Who knew?

I can only stay up for a few hours before going back to bed. It's calling for me now!

118.4 - official weight for the week. I was just looking at my weight over the years spreadsheet with weights from 1990 until now (35 years!). The early years are my annual weights at my doctor. Interesting to see that I had 2 hover points repeated in between diets: one around 150, about where I was before this recent loss and the other at where I am now after VSG. I was lower for the year just after the VSG loss, but that was definitely too thin. But the 5 years prior to VSG were nasty, going up and up until I reached 219!

Yesterday was good. Golf was pleasant since the weather was finally nice. No way will I golf more at least until I can hit the ball more consistently. I need a lot more confidence in my ability to actually hit the ball vs the ground or air. We went to the beach club afterwards for a few hours for the first time in almost a month.

Today the plan is to walk, gentle yoga class, beach club again, then possibly Happy Hour. Need to figure out something for dinner at home as we are out for dinner both Saturday and Sunday with friends.

Have a fantabulous Friday!

Weight gain as a side-effect does sound discouraging. Is the medication an aromatase inhibitor? Would you only need it for a year?

I bet DD enjoys her Dad's annual visits now so she has something to look forward to! I do remember when you were so scared about her but it seems like she is in a good place now.

Yep, walking is good!

LOL, DH is already planning to get a Reuben for lunch at the beach club (it has newly returned to the menu). I asked him about splitting it and he looked at me with daggers in his eyes. I guess not!

Sure sounds like your workout gave you that extra .4. Don't we all feel ruled by that scale? I envy people who never weigh themselves yet don't gain weight (deceased DH was like that).

Today was a wasted day. We spent all day waiting for his transfer and after 5 learned there is some holdup on Mayo's end. My dad has a donor contact there who is helping, but it didn't happen today and my dad wouldn't ask anyone any questions and got mad when Claudia would push. Claudia is taking over now. You have to be a squeaky wheel unfortunately. If he can get to Mayo, his stent gets changed (30 minute procedure), he would be able to get home. The other possibility is would home and trying to get into Mayo as an outpatient. Messy!

Uneasy stomachs seems to be the thing now. Mine is being so temperamental! I feel like I'm hardly eating and yet my weight is going up. I think it's from switching to this new medication to replace tamoxifen. I'm an unhappy camper: weight over my range for the first time since May, fatigue, joint pain... I'm thinking quite a bit about quality of life vs benefits of medication. I will have completed 4 years of a 5 year treatment plan in April. I had stage 1a, which has a very high survival rate. I would assume I've already gained most of the benefits of the treatment. I asked DH what he thought and he said Well I wouldn't like it if you went off the medication and you got cancer again. (Understatement) I countered with Well I wouldn't like it if I went through all this with these meds and I got cancer again. Either is a possibility. Obviously its my decision. I will continue pondering, and reading, and give it a few more weeks, and see where we're at. But I gotta say, the weight thing is scaring me.

It was 50 degrees here today! A spring preview. It will be subzero next week, so definitely false spring, but every day moves us closer to real spring.

DH is going to visit our DD tomorrow. Several years ago she was in a scary place with suicide ideation. Ever since, DH plans a visit the end of January just to check she's making it through the toughest part of winter okay. She has been her resilient self for a long time now, but we will probably always be a bit more watchful.

Speaking of resilient, good news about your Dad CC.

Paula, this bout of Covid sounds just awful. I can do muscle aches way better than a sore throat. That's misery.

Diane, good observation about the power of walking, it's good for doggies too. And probably very good for husbands.

Peps , I hear you about the dieting thing. I did a 180 from what you're planning. I decided I am happy enough where I am so screw this dieting thing. You're more determined than me. I think either approach is valid :)

Yes Liz, resist if extra commitments don't sound appealing. You already do a lot and probably need some unscheduled time too. I love spending time with DH, and he is my favorite person in the world (along with our kids). Now I'm wondering if I'll want more separate time once I'm retired? I guess we'll find out!

Paula, I knew you were sick, but somehow forgot that you guys had tested positive for Covid.

Three years ago Hubby lost 10 pounds after his bout with Covid, and the weight never came back. Here's to your Covid weight loss hot coming back either.

Excellent news about your dad. I'm very happy for him (and you and Claudia) that he's out of the danger zone. When will he be able to come "home" (to your house)?
