Greetings all

The rain has arrived. It's slow and steady and not too bad. No wrecks on the freeway so far. I did my usual pajama - coffee - dawdling today and then went to the gym and walked. More Aretha. Good thing she has a zillion recordings and I like all of them. After that I went to the studio and did some glazing. The usual suspects were about.

Nice that you have weight records Liz. I tend to associate weight with certain events - like I was skinny on the trip to Italy or I was fat on that ski trip to Vail. One thing I did learn is that after every traditional diet when I lost 20, 30 or 40 pounds, I gained it back and then some. I told Dr. Cirangle that I had abandoned traditional dieting for that reason and he said it was good and that I would have ended up heavier if I hadn't. Who knows; that may have been his bias as a bariatric surgeon.

Paula glad you are feeling a little better. That chicken soup sounds icky. But it was nice of them to do it. Hoping you do not have strep and that you recover soon.

Yep DD and Ann, I too get every shot I can. All the covids, flu, pneumonia, shingles and whatever they got. Too many old people die from this stuff. No thanks. And gosh DD, I didn't think about how schools are petri dishes but indeed they are. But soon you will be on permanent vacation from petri-ville!

Peps those scan results sound great. All fat loss! Yay. Your workouts really are paying off.

Just had an apple with peanut butter. Pink Lady. Delish.

No weekend plans here. I need to get caught up at the studio and go buy some more clay. Another reminder of how much 25 pounds matters. No wonder I feel gimpy.

Yeah, having a whole protein shake does this to me too. Always has (since VSG). Which is why I usually drink small portions of them...

Good news, Paula. I'm glad you're feeling better. I never feel as good as I do when I "turn that corner."

CC, I'm so sorry today's efforts didn't deliver a solution. He's lucky Claudia is on his side and able to tolerate your dad's emotions. Strong-minded folks can be tough to take care of.

Protein powders do that to me for sure and a new protein bar I am trying so far has been 2 for 2.

Do you shop at Byerly's? I remember loving that grocery store when I was in St. Louis Park. In the 80's it was carpeted and had chandeliers. Super fancy!

I'm starting to improve little by little and I really didn't have the high fevers associated with Strep. I'm keeping an eye on strep complications like rash etc.

I forgot to ask a protein shake question this morning. Here it is:

Within the next half hour after drinking a protein shake, do any of y'all get tummy bubbles, pains, and a signal that you need to find a bathroom ASAP. Turns out I don't always actually NEED a bathroom at that point, but sometimes I really do. To be quite blunt about it: protein shakes sometimes precipitate an urgent bowel movement for me.

If anyone suffers from this ailment, what do you think is going on?
