Late comment on the boobs and hormones issues coming at you here ....

I don't have big boobs and am so glad I don't, but of course they're so much lower than they used to be. I didn't have any body cosmetic surgery after my VSG, and at nearly 79 I'm not about to do so now.

On the bra front, many of the still surviving department stores employ one or more women who truly know how to fit women with bras appropriate for their size, shape, etc. I did that earlier this year at Dillard's and now have 3 bras that work exceedingly well for dress up situations. I also have 3 old bras from Soma for days when I know I'm going to be working outdoors getting sweaty and dirty.

Re hormonal craziness, I barely remember those days, although I don't recall suffering overmuch from PMS. Menopause wasn't that bad either, except for the sudden end to 10-hour uninterrupted sleeps. But now with the legalization of marijuana I can manage that better with melatonin and evening THC gummies.

Fun night with DD, SILs, and niece. We had drinks at the venue where younger DD's wedding will be held so I was able to view the new carpet installed in the room recently. Dinner at a small, quieter restaurant where I possibly ate 1/4 of my meal (maybe even less).

Yesterday DD and I went to an open house for a home near mine and similar in size on the market for the same listing price as mine. OMG, the place needed cosmetic work from stem to stern including the exterior! I think the owner must have set the price, not the realtor because there is no way anyone could want that house for that price. But right now they have no competition in the immediate area. I suspect they may lower the price once my listing goes up.

I haven't heard from the guy who said he'd paint my cupola even though I sent a note yesterday. Getting worried that it won't be done before the pictures. I wonder if they can photoshop them?

Not much planned for the day other than hopefully having the painting done. If he doesn't show up maybe the beach? I need to pack for the move to DH's home while this house is being shown and also for a week-long trip to Florida on Wednesday to get some things done there.

Have a supervenient Sunday!

Since, as Diane said, this is a safe place....

I suppose I am numbed and jaded. I was not shocked by the news today. I don't know what that says about me, but I was neither shocked nor horrified by the shooting at the Trump rally this evening. I took the news in stride. Nothing in American politics shocks me any longer. Sure I wanted to know details of the shooting. But, if I am being honest, I was feeling curiosity, not compassion.

While I am an optimist in so many ways, I am afraid that our country has seen its day as a world leader and a land of opportunity. I keep thinking that while Rome lasted a millennium, we may not even last 250 years. Sure, we'll be a country, The United States, but we won't be "America" anymore. What "America" represents to must of us, is long gone. The thought is sobering.

To do better, people first must want to do better. I'm afraid I just don't see that as true where it counts in national leadership. I see too many my-way-or-the-highway attitudes, finger pointing, name calling folks with an utter lack of decorum and decency dictating the policy of our country. Nothing, absolutely nothing will change for the better unless, "we the people" do something, while "we the people" is still a thing. I fear we have very little time left.

My history is different from most of yours. So I may see the political climate differently. But seeing the doors that slowly opened legally, offering me, my friends and millions of others protection and equity as a human beings in this country now being shut, is pretty damn scary. So forgive me, if I don't rally.

I have been forced to live in shadows. But I made choices and I stood up for what I believed. I have done better. I have fought for equality within my school district and eventually got benefits for domestic partners and same sex couples. It took years and numerous tries, but it finally happened. And now we are entering an era in which Paula's DC #1 may not be able to become a teacher, an era in which if I were a young person I would not be able to be open about who I am professionally, just as it was 30 years ago when I started.

So, shock, horror, sadness.... NOPE! I'm pissed.

I'm supposed to be in maintenance mode already but still dropping some. Plans are not exactly jelling....was hoping to just continue with the protein forward, good for you carbs though veggies and fruits, and healthy fats, etc. Definitely needs some further adjustment- more calories for sure, but needing to pay attention to a very fickle system.

Agreed. This was a very sad day for America no matter who you support. My heart breaks for the supporter who lost their life and for two that sound very seriously wounded. And think of him what you will, thank God Trump was not murdered today. Shame on those who sow hatred and division in this wonderful country of ours. At the end of the day, regardless of our political leanings we are all more alike than we are different and want good for our country.

One of the things I so appreciate about our group is the ability to hold differing views with respect towards everyone. No matter what our view, what a sorrowful day for all of us that there was an assassination attempt against a former president and current candidate. While it appears former president Trump will be okay, at least one person at the rally was murdered. I guess I am grateful at least that the current divisiveness and the crazy place we find ourselves hasn't numbed me from feeling true shock and horror. I don't want to get political, but only say we must find a way to do/be better.

Greetings all

Sunny day here. Works for me. I puttered all morning with gallery banking and record keeping and emails to some of our artists. Also working on our lease renewal. Amazing how long it takes when I do my own clerical stuff. Then I went to the grocery for some basic stuff that we are low on. Burgers tonight I think. The costco carcas will go to the dogs.

Everyone is rocking their weight control. Yay you! Ostrich mode here. Maybe someday...

What a great looking restaurant Liz! Isn't there a big marine lab at Woods Hole? Super view.

Plovers CC! We have snowy plovers here in our dunes which are an endangered species so you can't walk in the dunes during their nesting season. Glad Kirby is amused. No he won't catch them. Our old Liza used to chase the seagulls but of course never caught any. Did get a few crab shells and lots of kelp..

I skipped the studio today. Lots to do there but I have beaucoup chores to do here. Maybe tomorrow.

Paula I looked at your etsy site. Cool stuff. Cards with flowers sell well at our gallery. Hope the show goes well.

We are still hooked on Tehran. Don't know how many episodes are left in season 2 but every single one is a cliff hanger. More tonight.

Talked to my brother. He said he had a great time up here on his visit. Maybe he will be back again this decade.

Birds DD! Chirps on a sunny day are like a perfect condiment to relaxation. Enjoy.

Diane S
