The shakes and protein powders can be hard on me too. I stick to 1/2 of the premier protein at a time, using it as my coffee creamer. Thanks to Diane S's suggestion the Fairlife is also going down better with a little cocoa powder in it to make it not as sweet tasting. Funny that I now have to unsweeten things to make them palatable!

I keep forgetting to comment on this... I've been having to drink Premier Protein shakes as I'm out of Fairlife shakes and there are none around here. Jeez Louise, they are hard on my digestive system! I'll be happy to go back to Fairlife for much better taste and less internal distress. What do they put in those things??

Good morning! I'm knocking things off my do-before-I-leave list. Yesterday was an oil change on my MI car, MI gifts for my friends, and making brownies for my folks to freeze. They are amazing brownies.

Today's tasks will evolve. I do better if they sneak up on me. I also want to see the Beetlejuice movie that's here in town. I haven't heard anything so maybe that's not a good thing?

There are so many Monarch Butterflies here right now. They're everywhere! Maybe the warmth is keeping them here?

Scale was 186 today. Nice to have it moving a bit again.

Not much else happening here. Hope everyone is well!

So impressed you went to the gym, Diane! That's awesome!

Not sure Kirby thinks it's beneath him, he more seems confused by the concept after one or two throws. Like he doesn't understand why if we want the ball brought to us so badly, why do we keep throwing it away? Our goldens over the years have fallen into two camps -ball retrievers and non-ball retrievers. We're about half and half. He definitely retrieves things we don't want him to retrieve - shoes, dish towels, remotes, glasses, coasters, sleep eye masks...

The Clampets have mostly decamped!

Greetings from Portland Maine! The weather continues to be beautiful, so it is a good weekend to be here. We stopped in Ogunquit for lunch yesterday (shared a burger), then got to DS apartment around 4:30. Nice place but so overfurnished - he wanted a lot of familiar things around him LOL. He still has a few pieces of furniture coming from my house after the wedding. It is going to be a tight fit!

We ate at a lovely Italian restaurant last night near the harbor. It was in an old building with exposed brick walls and 3 beautiful curved bars. Our table was in a sort of loft overlooking one of the rooms with the pretty bars. Nice lighting though that meant I had to use my reading glasses LOL.

This morning we are going to take a walk in a nearby park, then DS has us booked for a Harbor Lighthouse cruise this afternoon. Lots to do in this city. This is our last trip away before the wedding and house closing, so we will be fully in de-clutter mode at the house starting Monday. Because we are hosting the after wedding brunch I don't want to pack anything up ahead of that but I'm hoping to have any additional stuff to throw away or donate out before that.

Enjoy the first day of the weekend! Have a satisfying Saturday!

I don't think DD will be difficult about the wedding though with her wedding 2 weeks away she is assigning tasks.

LOL! Gym anxiety--that's a thing for me, too. Never heard that term for it, but it's real. For me, a new gym feels like I just joined a weird cult where the other cultists don't love-bomb me, but ignore me.

Yeah, my old book club here rocks. However, I'm already in a Kentucky book club that I love just as much: all women, super sharp, retired, and compatibility on many fronts.

Enjoyed a Happy Hour with DH, where I ate one slider sandwich, 3 onion rings and drank a French 75. The only plans I have for the weekend is to see the touring Broadway show of Back to the Future. DD saw it in NYC and said the special effects are outstanding.

All is well :)
