It did help that DS and DD took some of their Dad's things, but there is still lots that I had to throw/donate, and still some left. And the pictures! Bins of them that I can't deal with yet.

He needs something! Claudia said she is forcing him to talk to his doctor tomorrow morning. So hopefully she can get through his thick skull to seek help. He's sliding backwards having felt pretty good over the weekend, but felt awful today. He's exhausted and super sore in his ribs. And still coughing up a lot of sputum though he says it's white, not yellow or green (TMI, sorry). My concern is pneumonia especially as he gets more tired and can't get it all out.

DH always needs a course or 2 of steroids to clear up his cough from Covid or other URIs. Maybe your Dad would consider?

Greetings all

Yet another sunny nice day. I made eggs for breakfast and amazingly am still not hungry. What can I conclude from this? wait wait don't tell me.....

Spent some time at the studio. Determined that all my slug figures are loaded in the kiln so I should have them monday to replenish. Good news. Someone from the gallery called today to tell me all about some person who wants to buy one and she advised them I would take an order and ship it. Hell no, don't do that. Learned years ago that such people are fussy Karens.

Well Liz, hope the furnace chronicles resolve successfully. Who knows who is right? How about they get a co2 detector? Glad you had a fun girl party.

Yep DD the woeful tales of the parent units. I know you would do anything they needed if it provided help but some people are struck in complaining.. All you can do is patiently listen. Which I know you are doing. Sounds like the situation at work will improve with the additional staff. That's good. Can't believe you are about to start back. What happened to summer? One more year...

CC agreed - some people are crappy patients. Hope your dad recovers soon and hope the hoe-down neighbors have quieted down.

Peps your road trip sounds epic. So now you know what good stuff is in the midwest. ie air conditioned indoor dog shows! Enjoy the travels.

Ann wishing you a good transition from your beloved home. Sometimes by the time you fix and move stuff and do chores it feels like good riddance. Did for me. Paula may have the right idea in taking pictures of stuff. Transitions are indeed learning experiences if we are open to that. A person who does not open new doors goes nowhere....(says Confucius diane)

Humidity Paula! A scourge indeed. I remember being in the Ozarks and hanging up wet towels all night and they don't dry. Nothing dries out ever. Yet the artificial chill of an air conditioner can be no fun. Guess I should stop *****ing.

Steak for dinner tonight. It's becoming my favorite dinner. Meanwhile time to walk.

Still humid here! Next week should be much cooler. Today was shot day. My 5th at 10mg. I feel like there is little left day 6 and 7. I didn't lose any this week. Which I know is still better than my normal MI M.O. of gaining 10 pounds over the summer, so it must be working at least that much!

My dad is still struggling with a cough and it's wearing him out. i have sympathy to a point. It's a gnarly cough. But will he call the doctor to see if they have anything to help? No. He prefers to suffer and make everyone around him feel as crappy as he does. I steer clear. Worst sick person I know!

I've been enjoying the Olympics. Steve the pommel horse guy was fantastic. And today watching the British triathlete (all of 5 feet tall!) come out of nowhere in the last few seconds to pass up 3 guys and win the gold was amazing. Then they all collapsed at the finish and one guy projectile vomitted on the world's tv. And all after swimming in the filthy Seine. Gritty sport! And I don't understand dressage at all, but the horses are sure pretty and elegantly dance to music.

Today I got my hair colored and went to the farm stand for cherries and sweet corn. And we went and got frozen custard from Culver's. Today's flavor was dark chocolate peanut butter swirl with Butterfingers in it. No wonder I'm not losing weight! But it was delish.

I think that's all I know. Hope you all are well! I was bummed I couldn't convince Peps to detour a "mere" 7 hours out of his way (each way) across the big lake to Western Michigan. He could have ridden the Badger Ferry and hung out with me on the deck overlooking the water! In 83% humidity... Missing out, Peps!

I hear you girls! Downsizing means getting rid of stuff but when that ?stuff? represents someone you loved and lost, it is extra difficult. I know I had to get rid of so much of Ben?s stuff before moving here and what I did keep will need to be pared down again before the FL move. DH will need to do the same with stuff from his first marriage. The kids don?t have room for it either in their tiny apartments. I was just thinking today how I might just take pictures of the stuff. Extra files on a hard drive won?t take up any more space!

I gotta say that as someone who lived in Texas for 10 years, California for 20 years, New Mexico for 10 years, and the Ozarks for 20+ years, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING can compare to growing up in the hellish humidity of Mississippi when all we had to survive summers were electric fans. In fact, I'm convinced that's why so many Mississippians are fat--it's just too effing miserable to go outdoors half of the year.

Goody goody about the signed contract, Liz. Seems like most of us know about those real-estate-deadline-butterflies-in-the-tummy symptoms.

And yes, to every time there is a season--this one seems to be trying to teach me that saying goodbye to stuff doesn't mean saying goodbye to love. Still, it's sometimes uncomfortable (I think that's the best word for how I feel) knowing this beautiful spot soon won't be available to me.

I'm beginning to think that life's big transitions with their attendant discomforts offer us the best educational experiences.
