Peps, I am so excited for your trip! A European river cruise is on my bucket list. I'd also love to do the Delta Queen River cruise on the Mississippi River. I hope it is a wonderful time. Who are you traveling with again?

I understand the popularity of Italian restaurants. Mediterranean cuisine: Greek, Italian, Turkish etc are hands down my favorite cuisine. I am sure if there is such a thing as reincarnation, I have always lived in the Western Hemisphere, and spent many past lives in the Mediterranean.

The visit with my parents may have included the most ugly moments I have witnessed, and I have witnessed many throughout my life. At some point I began to disassociate, which is not a very functional response, but served it's purpose when I was young. Ugh. There was also some progress forward with an agreement to let us get a dumpster to clear some space for a hospital bed, which would be much more suitable for my Mom. I am continuing less than functional behavior now that I am safely home as I finish my second limoncello martni. Not to worry, its a calculated choice I am making. And once again, overwhelmed by gratitude for my DH, who tried to redirect my parents (with so much empathy and respect) from their angry attacks against each other and with whom I am always safe.

Tomorrow will be lovely. Nice weather, and my flowers are flourishing. I will read my Sunday papers and revel in the peace of the home DH and I have created.

201.something... I knew I'd either be up or down. I ate a bit differently yesterday and was not too concerned about sodium...

I was able to order a new month of tirzepatide. It'll come when I'm away, but it will be here when I get back, which is good because I will run out of tirzepatide while in Europe. My last two doses are coming with me.

While I didn't get enough done yesterday because I chose to be a slug, I did get my closet cleaned out, encouraged Ron to do some quick purging and got 10 bags of clothes and shoes to Goodwill. My NUT/eating disorder therapist encourages getting rid of all my clothes that are too big and represent a different version of me. Ron was taken aback by how much I purged. IMO, I still have plenty of clothes. They just happen to be what suits the me I am now. He admitted he was jealous that I essentially have lost enough weight to warrant a complete new wardrobe. I am guessing that is where the reprimands about clothing size and body image were stemming from a couple of weeks ago.

Today I have been much more productive! I went to the dog show with Grizz and was home by 10 am. I have had a little breakfast, fed the dogs, cleaned up the dog yard, cleaned the guest room and done the bedding with two sets of sheets (one for my brother tonight and readied the next set underneath for the house sitters. I will do a quick change before we leave tomorrow morning! Top sheets and pillows are on standby in the closet!) I have dogs to wash and clothes to pack and a few odds and ends to attend. Other than that, I am feeling ready.

We'll leave here tomorrow sometime around 10 am. Our flight to Amsterdam does not depart San Francisco until 1:45 pm. I will check in when I can.

I'm baaack! I've read everything I missed -- retirements, parents, kids, gardening, holidays, doggies, beaches, exercise.

We had a great time in North Carolina last weekend. More delays still for moving furniture in. Trying to diagnose a stubborn shower issue. Worst case scenario is we have to rip out the shower wall and redo the inside-the-wall plumbing. Soooo frustrating.

No big weekend plans. I'll probably make 3 trips both days to Lowe's or Home Depot.

Oh, and I started rehab to improve my knees' flexion. Therapist is aggressive in the good way. I'm sore from the exercises, but not from arthritis, which is good, eh?

118.6 - I decided to just stick with the floor scale here. And I don't need my glasses to read that one LOL.

I think Peps leaves for his trip tomorrow! So exciting.

We had our usual day yesterday. I didn't go to chair yoga because I had the time wrong but I did go to water aerobics for the 5th day in a row. I am glad to have a break over the weekend. He really works your arms and shoulders. I didn't realize that my muscles needed so much work. Some of the people were glad their vacation was over so they could rest. I will do it this week again. Then I have to figure out how to continue with it.

Last night we went to a new Italian place. Italian for the 3rd time this week - ever noticed that there are tons of Italian restaurants these days? This one had a beautiful view and good food at a much more reasonable price than the other 2. May be our new go to place here for Italian food. DD likes another one really close to our resort but we don't like it at all. Somewhat glad we aren't going to be going there with her this year (we have already planned the nights we are overlapping).

Today is more hanging around. Our friend's daughter and her family arrive mid-day. Our friend is likely on the beach carving a welcome sculpture right now. Tonight DH and I are going to an old-fashioned restaurant which has been considered one of the best in Aruba for years. Papiamento has been open for 42 years.

Time to get moving a bit and get ready for walk time. I am missing having our jaunty little guy walking with us. Have a sweet Saturday!
