Wow! Such a small thing to cause much angst. Must be a valet thing?

If your marriage can survive this remodel you are in great shape! I would be incredibly stressed out.

The paint situation would infuriate me! I'm a stickler on paint brand and finish, too. I'm sad that Kelly Moore is now defunct because they had the BEST washable dog paint EVER!

205.1 Crap-o-licious eating comes home to roost! LOL! It's all good. The uptick is expected and deserved.

I woke up super cranky. No big surprise. I need to do a little mental house cleaning. A nice long flight tomorrow will be helpful for that. I am amused that I now look forward to long flights. I find them restful. That probably speaks to my busy life.

My new J Crew shorts came yesterday. Really nice quality and at 58% off I can't complain! Also super duper nice to be able to order a "normal" size and find the fit to be fantastic!

Shot day yesterday.

Not much else going on.

Happy wedding, Paula ! Anne, glad you are still married ! I get the paint quality thing! Liz, Mike looks great (you too) on FB photo. CC, when do you leave for Michigan ? DD & Peps... hang in there ! Almost at the finish line ! Diane, no spring peas !? The horror! Like Anne, I'm trying to catch up on posts.

Interesting update in my potential relationship. After I was triggered and believed I was being set up for being catfished...I blocked all communication. I really thought I had found something wonderful. Four days after we "met" he was offered a design contract in South Africa, requiring him to be there a little less than a month. When he had an arduous customs experience and two of his six pieces of luggage were stolen, my first thought was... "Here it comes, he's going to ask for money !", and I shut down communication. We had been in contact by email and had not yet met or talked on the phone. After four days, someone called me while I was in my car, and the list of recent calls was on the screen, and there were four blocked calls from him, one each day. I thought maybe I had jumped the gun. Sent an email and told him I would unblock my phone for 24 hours and a virtual call was what I needed, in order to take care of myself. (I needed to see his eyes, verify that he looked like his pictures, and establish what his voice sounds like.) He gladly did it, and understood my motivation/request. We'll continue to communicate while he's away, before we can meet in person.

I forgot one bit of good news to share ... about a year ago the rear-door of my Lexus RX350 stopped raising automatically when I pushed the RAISE button on my dashboard. Likewise, when I walked around to the back of the car and pushed the RAISE handle, nothing happened--and I had to manually raise the door with my arm. Likewise, when I pushed the LOWER hangle on the back door, nothing happened, and I had to manually lower the door with my arm.

My Missouri car repair guy said he thought I needed a new motor, but that he couldn't handle that--I would have to take it to Lexus.

Last week, not wanting to incur Lexus dealership repair prices, I took it to a good car repair shop here in Kentucky I've used in the past, and they said they'd fix it for me. An hour after I took it in for repair, the shop called me back and said, "There is nothing wrong with your car rear door or your dashboard buttons that operate it or the motor that opens and closes the door. Somehow, the switch that activates all those functions just got turned off."

"There's a switch? Where's the switch?" I asked.

"In the glove compartment box," I learned.

So there you have it. Clearly, it was my fault when I must've tried to cram way too much stuff into my glove box and inadvertently turned the switch off.

And the cost of my "repair"? Zero bucks.

P.S. I shared this bit of trivia in case someone else ever runs into this problem.

I haven't decided yet. Probably late June through September? When I'm here I don't want to be there and when I'm there I don't want to be here! a good problem to have I suppose!

Weight 125.0

Whoops! I didn't mean to publish my reply that fast.

The home remodel punch list is getting longer and longer. We've agreed that we're now willing to move our furniture into the home before everything is finished--it's just taking too damn long! The stress has been real--for us and our contractors who've run into scheduling conflicts and are experiencing real life challenges themselves (unrelated to our remodel).

Another thing that's gone wrong is that we've realized (way too late) that our painters did NOT follow our instructions re paint quality and finishes we asked for even though we handed them a typed list of all our requests listing the brand of paint to use (Benjamin Moore) and all the finishes we wanted on each room's walls, trim and ceilings (satin, high gloss, matte). Turns out they used the lowest quality of a lesser brand (Sherwin Williams) and also downgraded all our satin and high-gloss requests to matte and gloss. My apologies for getting into the weeds with y'all, but it's a big deal for us. Furthermore, since we already paid the painters for everything they've done, we don't have much recourse to recoup our money. Instead, we'll hire another painter to do it right this fall/winter when painters have more time on their hands to do interior painting when it's cold and wet outside.

On the positive side--I'm thinking, I'm thinking!--spring in Kentucky is gorgeous! Our backyard is going to be such a gardening haven! We're still married, which is a bigger win than you might imagine. We're still upright and shockingly healthy for our age (DH's foot is still troubling him, but he's going to rehab religiously twice a week, and I'm back at the gym and in the yoga studio). I'm getting all my annual old-lady testing scheduled here through my new primary care provider. We're going to North Carolina in a few weeks to see family there.

Finally, I treasure you guys and apologize for not being present these last few weeks. This weekend I'll go back and catch up on what is happening with everyone right now.

Peps and Diamond D, you both must have mere minutes left on your moments-until-retirement calculators! I'm truly tickled for you both!
