Only $50,000? Glad to hear there are still bargains to be had in these inflationary times.

Been lost in the holiday- maze - o - activity and still in the midst of decorations and Christmas lights that DH seems to enjoy during the dark winter season. I think stuff should come down January 1st and we made a compromise to keep Xmas up until the battery powered lights died. Damn batteries will not give it up despite being left on 24/7. Time to renegotiate....

The snow here is lovely and with the full moon about here, spectacular! Swanny often engages in after walk zooming and the snow just intensifies his enthusiasm for more. more, and more.

Even though 140 is slap in the middle of my desired weight range, being so close to it makes me nervous in the same way as 120 does you, Liz. The good I see in this is that I can take inventory; easy to see how slider carbs have taken too great a percentage of my food intake. The # doesn't matter- what does (and should) make me concerned is the " no big deal, will start tomorrow " tape I've been playing for days now.

If not now, when? If not me, .... who?

Getting a pool pump is genius. Fervently hoping you never need to use it.

I have totally lost track of the days of the week this week.

Yesterday I had lunch with friends, ran some errands and walked the dog. He gets post walk zoomies that make me wonder how much gas he carries in his tank if a walk doesn't tire him out!

The fires got me thinking about my house (my wildfire risk score used by insurance is the highest category of "Extreme"). We are on a community well. Once our water tank and pond run dry, that's it. No city water runs our hydrants. So I got to wondering if it would be smart to get a small gas-powered pump with a hose that I can leave by the pool for firefighters. I texted my friend who's husband is a 35 year retired CalFire battalion chief to ask him if that was a silly idea. He called and said it was a great idea and he can source one for me with his former supply contacts and it would be a lot less expensive than the websites that cater to retail CA customers. He suggested I talk to my neighbors with pools too. Only 3 of the houses in my neighborhood don't have pools. The other 10 do.

No plans for today, maybe just small project tasks like continuing to try to get the hose off the hose bib that's stuck.

Hope everyone has a great day!

That sounds fine, Liz. With the Zepbound shots, if it's unrefrigerated it's good for up to a month.

The have a place to go part is the hard aspect. With up to 180,000 mandatorily displaced, where do they all go? Sometimes it's better to wait and just be ready.

127.2

Good morning to all! Here it snowed lightly all day yesterday, and we got another 3-4". A lot should disappear this weekend--high of 32 today and 38 tomorrow. Yay!

I hope to get my ring back today from the jewelers (had to have it resized--turns out my ring size is now 5).

Speaking of face lifts, earlier this week I had a pre-consultation meeting with the scheduler for the local superstar cosmetic surgeon after the surgeon had looked at photographs of my unmade-up face. The scheduler said a facelift by Super Surgeon would cost me only $50,000 - $60,000.

What the actual FFFF? Not gonna do that! I'll just keep using my hyaluronic acid and French moisturizer, brushing my teeth twice a day, and paying attention to my RBF (resting ***** face--we've all got 'em).

Nothing else to report here--just waiting on the end of electrical work and a building inspection before we go on to drywall, paint, floors, cabinets, putting old and new appliances in the kitchen. Another 6-8 weeks and we'll be sleeping in our old bed in our new bedroom.

Paula, your Maui pix are beautiful! I love that you can sorta live a "pretend I live here" kind of life there.

And I still haven't been to Hawaii yet. #SMDH

120.4 - numbers over 120 get me nervous these days though they shouldn't.

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful beach club day. Though it was only in the high 60's, sitting next to the wall that blocks the wind made it plenty warm enough to be in a bathing suit. We hadn't done that since early December.

Lots to do today as we leave at 4:30 am tomorrow for Albany NY to stay with the grandchildren for 3 days. I hope it doesn't snow while we are there. On the list: laundry, food shopping, some house cleaning, water aerobics, golf, packing. The food shopping and house cleaning are because SIL an arrives the morning after we get back late in the day and we won't have much time before her early arrival . Water aerobics is iffy as it is raining right now but there are still a couple of hours until then. Golf is 9 holes with DH.

But first: coffee (with Fairlife Core Power as creamer - good way to get some protein in easily). Have a savvy Saturday!

Question: Tomorrow night is injection night - do you think I can prefill my syringe and bring it without the vial in my travel case (keeps it cold)? I searched online and it seems okay to do it for a short time for insulin but I couldn't find anything official on tirzepatide.
