Shoot, I can see why your holiday season is still exhausting. Does it ever end? I think it would be wonderful to go on a cruise or stay at a resort with my family where someone else has done all the decorating and cooking. Maybe some day...
I'm feeling a okay now, but yesterday I got a headache as the night went on, and then chills and body aches at bedtime. I took some Tylenol, and slept fine after that. So I suspect the Shingles vaccine, or the combination of Shingles and Flu vaccine. At any rate, not too bad, and having had both afflictions in my 30s (shingles and influenza type A) well worth preventing.
Today I spent a huge amount of time on the phone with Fidelity getting online access to my 403B. One begins to suspect they do not want you to withdraw any money. But the account access is squared away, and I am withdrawing an amount to buy some new chairs for the livingroom. The last time I bought some, I didn't have much cash available, so i bought some inexpensive bonded leather ones from Target. Bonded leather and cats equals a disaster, and they looked terrible within a year. They've been "updated" with fabric slip covers that aren't much better. This time I am buying what I want. Still midrange price, but much better.
We bought some tickets to a concert for tomorrow evening. It's a cover band that plays Carpenter songs. I will enjoy it, but it's really something DH wanted and likes. And on Sunday evening, we will see a local jazz singer at a club in downtown Minneapolis. As the days get darker, I find that live performances keep my spirits brighter.
Agreed. I once went to a dentist whose hygenist was terrible - I would drool the entire time from discomfort. Quit that dentist but never said why. ds

Great dinner out last night. Lots of chatting so our 6:30 dinner didn't end until 9:30. I learned about Kava Bars. Have any of you ever tried it? There are several near us - I thought they just sold regular coffee (and had never heard of Kava).
We slept on the new pull-out sofa for the first time last night to try it out. Because it comes out sideways vs lengthwise very little furniture needs to be moved which is nice. It is actually quite comfortable. We are planning to sleep on it next week while the family is here.
Today the window cleaners come at 8:30. They should be done by around noon. Lots of windows and mirrors to be done, plus someone will clean the outside using a ladder. DH will supervise as I am going to golf this morning. Justice is going to go crazy. We are going to have them do the furthest guest bedroom first so we can put him in there in the crate with the door closed.
Another dinner out tonight with friends in our community. I am looking forward to being at home eating leftovers tomorrow night because the family arrives Saturday. Let the exhausting holiday season begin!

Yes, Justice is an unusual chihuahua. Our prior one would go around the block but after that she had to be carried. Justice is more like our beagles with his stamina.
I am sure you would end up replacing a lot of furniture over time to make the place more yours anyway. I certainly have. The only rooms where the furniture is unchanged are the main guest room and the kitchen table.

I hope those antibiotics are working for your father. I will have to look into that shoulder device - my unreplaced one does get very sore at times.

I find the hygienists who clean the teeth are more variable than the dentists. Some of them rip away at your gums while others are much more gentle.

That makes me laugh. When we got our yellow lab puppy, each chid was assigned to take the puppy for a short walk so she would learn to use the leash, and get a little tired. So I'm driving home and I see DD carrying the puppy in her arms. Mission not accomplished. Eventually though puppies grow, and you can't carry a full grown lab, so Bella did have to do her own walking.
We leave for Brazil January 12 and return February 23. Once we're home, and read the mail, and visited my parents, and taken care of a few things, I think we'll need another trip somewhere warmer in the US. Unless it's an unusual year, winter will not be done with us in March.
