Slow day. Packed up one big box of fragile serving dishes I use for entertaining. Not sure if I should keep on packing things up or just wait with everything in the air!
Tonight we are going out for dinner with our good friends and then probably hitting the martini bar just down the street from the restaurant or the tropical drink bar just above the martini bar! Might have to get the beet salad again!
DSD and hubby are here for the night. We had made the dinner plans with friends before they decided to come. Oh well! We can visit for a bit!
Your thoughts on why the dreams are coming back may have some validity. I'll have to ponder it some more!
What a welcome gift to receive a family picture that includes someone dear who has passed away. And how wonderful your SIL celebrates another birhtday in the face of significant health challenges. As for DD, your kids probably don't compute that you're not in your 40s or 50s anymore and can't do all the things everyday. What's the Toby Keith song: I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm good once, as I ever was.
Diane, your nephew was so young. 17. He's a Peter Pan too, a boy who lives on for us, but never ages. Liz I can see why Elise lives on for you in her 30s.
Paula do you think the dreams have returned because you are taking another big step in life by moving to Florida, and pulling even further away from your actual life with Ben, and the life you and Ben had hoped to have in Hawaii?
Peps you know we all started humming, And we're living here in Allentown when you shared your location.
CC, I hope you're okay. We miss you.
Ocean Diane, looks like a fabulous trip!
It was gorgeous at the lake yesterday, and still warm enough to swim, but I was hesitant to get in. There were a lot of geese around, and the beaches are no longer officially open, so they're not testing the water. Generally all is well, but some summers the bacteria level from duck and geese poop, and run off if there are heavy rains gets higher. Anyhow, it probably was safe, but I decided not to chance it, although there were other swimmers. Just sitting in my beach chair, reading, chatting, snacking was heaven.
Today: another gorgeous day! I do not tire of this, but stand somewhat amazed. It will be cooler tomorrow, but not cold. Sunday is the Twin Cities Marathon, so a drop in the temp will be helpful.
Tonight we are going to see the musical A Beautiful Noise, based on Neil Diamond's music and life. DH notice there were still some tickets available last night. It will be a theater weekend, with tickets to a Doll's House on Sunday evening. I'm here for it!
The dream is very disconcerting! Ben expects me to go back to him but I'm married to Kevin. Most of the time in the dream, Ben still has cancer and the final outcome is still unknown. I used to tell Kevin about the dreams but he doesn't like hearing about them, so now I just keep them to myself. I was happy when they went away now only to return!

Yesterday was a day of memories but still fairly productive. I bought my great-nephew's birthday gift and packaged up 7 gifts to bring today: 1 for SIL's birthday, 1 for great-nephew's birthday (her grandson), and 5 framed pictures of the family from DD's wedding last year for everyone else. It is the last time everyone was together before my BIL passed away at Thanksgiving.
Today we are leaving just after noon for the party in Central Massachusetts. DD had wanted us to go early and attend a rugby game with her but that was just packing too much in a day which is going to include 5 hours of driving. I feel somewhat guilty about declining the game but I will see her at the birthday party later this afternoon.
Time for a Justice walk! It is already 58 thus morning vs 46 when we walked yesterday. Have a super Saturday!

Now that is an odd dream. Is it disconcerting in the dream itself? I can't imagine what a dream like that would be like. I do know that my DHs would have liked each other's personalities but I don't think deceased DH would like me being with someone else.

I can't sign up for exercise classes late in the day because I would never make it there. Has to be early before I get involved in anything else. The long Justice walk is the same though on an odd day like Thursday when we traveled we will do it late in the afternoon because he really needs it (probably us too).

Exactly. Sometimes I see a young woman with strawberry blonde hair and a couple of kids in tow and wonder if that is what Elise would look like now. I think she is younger than 53 in my mind - more like mid-thirties, maybe because she passed away at 32?

Had a surprise house viewing today. Realtor texted this morning that one of her clients might be interested in our house and could they look at it in the next several days. Shortly after she texted again and said how about 3:15 today. DH and I cleaned the house up real quick and the family came and saw the house. If they do put in an offer we have to wait for the first one to fall through or for them to release us from the contract. I guess the family liked the house but we're going to think about it! We shall see! Went out for Mexican for dinner. I had the Mexican shrimp ****tail, always good.
Happy heavenly birthday Elise! Grief is an odd thing. I had a recurring dream of Ben coming back but I was already married to Kevin. Finally stopped having the dream, then last night it returned! Not sure why!
DD, your picnic lunch looked great! You know I like my charcuterie! Glad BFF was able to join you.
Diane, when DH brings home dinner from his Romeo lunches, does he just order extra or are you all eating 3 meals off of one order? Always wonder that when you say he brought food home from lunch. Even though DH and I are not big eaters, I doubt we could get 3 meals out of one, 2 most likely but not 3. Hope the treadmill walking went easy for you today!
Yes, exercising before other activities seems to be working better for me too. When I worked and managed to have an exercise routine, I had to go straight from work. If I stopped at home, I was unlikely to make it to the gym at all.
When I left on my trip, it was still summer break and Planet Fitness was full of teenagers in the morning. This week it has been nice and quiet : ) I liked seeing all the kids doing aomething so good for their physical and mental health, but not gonna lie, I'm not minding all the open machines when I want them.
