Liz sorry that friend let you down. I hope the person who you can hire gets the painting done quickly and well. Yes, cats are really creatures of habit, and don't welcome changes to the routine of their humans. When my son was young enough to have a set bedtime, his cat would come and meow at him if he was staying up later.
Looks like a nice day today, no rain last night, and sunny this morning. We had a lovely evening with friends last night, and we were able to use the deck. Bonus is although we didn't deep clean, we did tidy up, and clean the bathrooms well. So we'll leave the house in decent shape tomorrow. BFF will be here most days we are gone. Hopefully she will keep my flowers alive. Every year I tell myself you're going to be traveling, don't put in a bunch of bedding plants, just have some baskets, but then I can't resist. They are looking very pretty this year with all the rain and no punishing heat.
This morning I have a pedicure appointment, and then I need to get serious about packing. The long range forecast for the beach looks mild, not the sweltering heat we've experienced the last 2 Julys on the east coast.
Lovely post, Paula. Your mom and aunts are fortunate to have each other. As those of us in this club know well, you gotta be in the club to appreciate the value of the club.
And how lovely that your stepdaughter is including you in the dress selection ritual. You've come a long way.

I love LaCrosse! DH and I spent a weekend there a few years ago and found lots of fun things to do. It's so picturesque, and the downtown itself is charming.
Good morning friends! Weight back up a smidge, I either got rehydrated from my day out in the hot, humid weather or just need a good poop! Oh well, if I weighed weekly instead of daily (or truthfully more) I wouldn't be so obsessed with the little fluctuations.
Packing up today to spend a few days in La Crosse (hometown). We stay at a hotel in the downtown area right off the Mississippi River and there is always lots to do and good places to eat! Tomorrow we will visit with my Mom, brother and two aunts that are traveling through the area. They are my Dad's sisters and both of them along with my Mom lost their spouses in the last 2 years. Thursday we will meet up with my two best friends for dinner and an outdoor concert.
I love the idea of not tracking food but I don't trust myself to get enough calories or protein if I don't! Protein is definitely not my first choice when it comes to food and even with tracking, I'm often short of 1000 calories (which I set as my goal). I've been having a Premier Protein shake before bed most nights to add to both my protein and calorie levels.
I have no nausea or anything at the higher dose. I really think a lot of my early symptoms were from that whey isolate protein powder! Glad DS#3 can use it!
Stepdaughter is getting married next May. Our relationship started off pretty rocky (her end) but has improved a lot especially over the last year or so. She texted me this week and asked me to join her and her friends to the wedding dress shopping experience. I feel honored that she wants me there as the "mother figure". It's times like this that her loss has to be extra painful. I'm more than happy to go, so a flight to North Dakota has been booked!
You need to retire to do all the things you do!
I would go see your Dad (with mask).

I do use up each vial. I got tired of protein bars (and protein drinks) after VSG. Tough to get past that.

Lots to do this morning to get the house ready for the photographer and showings, to move to DH's house, and to pack for our trip to Florida tomorrow. Not much sleep last night as I contemplated what had to be accomplished.
The friend/painter never came, so I have to warn the realtor. All he had to do when he offered is tell me he was too busy and I would have hired the guy my realtor suggested which I obviously have to do now. Not happy.
DS is worried about his cat adjusting, first to DH's home, then to the new apartment. It made me realize that dogs much more are adaptable because their home is where their family is, but for a cat it is where they feel comfortable sleeping, hiding, and hanging out. Said cat is eating the hydrangeas I put on the tables yesterday probably to distract DS from packing her things this morning.
Eating was pretty good yesterday. I pushed myself a little to eat more focusing on protein. We shall see what the weekly weighing brings in a few days. DD started a few weeks ago on prescription Ozempic and reported some good weight loss which makes her very happy.
Time to finish the coffee and get cracking on the work. Have a tonish Tuesday!

Greetings all
Sunny and lovely here. Kiln opening today and I was able to get about 8 new things. Ran them up to the gallery so my area is not empty. I also got some new items glazed so next week should be big. I didn't stay too long as there is heavy equipment driving around with the sewer line being replaced. Noisy and dusty.
Peps I would go visit your dad anyway. Good plan to wash hands and take your own drink. CYA is likely the plan of the facility. My mom's so***** bedbugs on it; likely brought in by one of her many care givers; and the management had a cow but they treated it and it was fine. Steam cleaning fixes that. Hope you have a good visit. Your dad needs to see you.
So I had a couple of calls and messages from a friend who wants to come visit. This is the one I had previously told would have to stay at a hotel as my home was not suitable for house guests. Finally bit the bullet and talked to her. Yes they want to come and they wanted to stay with us. I told her we just could not do house guest but there is a nice Holiday inn nearby. Oh well. This is a good friend from way back but rather high maintenance and I just can't deal with the drama. Plus she does not like dogs. At least she won't try to vacuum or rearrange furniture like DD's friend. Oh well, not until August.
Well I think NOT tracking is a good idea if it's working. No need for all that fuss. Slim people don't do that - at least I think they don't. Better to go with body cues (she said as she contemplated Fritos).
Peeee-eeeeww Tesla has some major dog farts!! Any ideas anyone? She does this from time to time. Little Miss Fartsalot.
