141.8, like Peps, up, down, up down! Come in 130's, you know you want to get here!
Thrilled that DH's MRI was normal and very much looking forward to our Maui trip! Packing starts today! Christmas decorations all down for another year!
Weather here is quite cold and will be getting even colder (below zero with windchill), single digits without windchill! Making chili (appropriately) for dinner tonight. It's actually not my favorite (made it too much for Ben when he was alive as it was a favorite) but the rest of the family loves it! I'll be good for one bowl!
Need to get my business taxes done before we leave so I'll work on that today. DC 1 hanging out today! Not much else happening around here. I sent DH to the grocery store so I don't have to deal with the cold!
120.2 - Worrying about weight gain (I know - what the heck?). I had weighed closer to 119 since early October except for one weekly weigh-in on 11/30. Hmmm...That was right after Thanksgiving week and this is right after Christmas/New Years week. Might there be a common cause?
Today is the 5th anniversary of DH's death. It was a peaceful passing in the end but the last few years and weeks leading up to it were certainly not. My recently deceased BIL was the only other person with DH and I when he passed away. Youngest DD had just come to see him and probably wasn't even back to her car when he let go. I feel like he waited for her to say goodbye even though he was not alert anymore. Their group in heaven is expanding.
A little worried about SIL, as her doctor had her get a full PET scan, brain MRI, echocardiogram and other tests because he saw what could be a little fluid in one lung. She has looked terribly frail lately because she has had two back fractures and pain around her sides which she thought was related to her back but what if it wasn't? No news yet so I don't know if that is good or not.
Speaking of brain MRIs, Paula I hope that the normal result at least rules out the really bad stuff even if he still doesn't know what is causing the vertigo?
Yesterday's golf was good! I hit the maximum on almost every hole but I did get par on one hole and I did get the ball over the water on the one hole I had to on the second try. I met some nice ladies in our foursome who taught me out a lot. Two really good players and one woman probably a bit younger than me who wasn't as good (but obviously better than me). I got a 70 on 9 holes. LOL! But I already signed up for next week which is the official opening of the winter season. There will be a much bigger group - there were only 22 playing yesterday.
On this issue of early takedown of Christmas decorations: In the past I didn't do it until epiphany either but this year I felt like we had so much going on that I should use the one down day I had to do it earlier.
We leave in about 2 hours for the weekend in Fort Lauderdale with DH's family. Packing is tricky as there is a cold wind from the north this weekend that can make it really chilly but DSS has planned poolside activities and dinners outside in the evenings.
Have a Flourishing Friday!

I love the sound of singing tree frogs! We don't have them here.
Yes, balance is definitely an issue for all of us of a certain age. I got pretty good while actively in Yoga (gentle). I may need to get back to that now that I have a functioning shoulder again.

That is excellent news!!!

Heck, my balance sucks more all the time. I will work on it in 2025. In fact, that short preceding sentence inspires me to make some specific exercise goals for 2025. More later ....

Greetings all
Day 2 of 2025. Feels about the same as 2024. I made the tastee sandwiches yesterday for studio buddy to eat while watching football. More for tonight. It is more carbs than I need but so be it. I still have considerable restriction from my 15 year old sleeve and am grateful for that.
Rain today. I went to the gym and did my walking and played with the incline. There was another old lady walking next to me very slowly which I smuggly observed until I noticed she had the incline set at Matterhorn level. Oh well. Got it done. Went to the studio after that and had things to glaze and did so. The studio has elves that work there who take your things and fire them and return them ready to glaze. Its such a great place.
Paula yay on normal MRI!!! Hoping that means some minor kind of treatment (ie pill). So yay for Maui. Good news indeed.
It's dusk as I sit here and the Pacific tree frogs are singing. So much noise from such tiny creatures.
Liz I bet it feels good to get those chores done. I am assuming because I never get mine done so never have that feeling - tee hee. Chores: don't hold your breath.
We started a new netflix series - The Tourist. A man is in an accident in rural Australia and loses his memory. He begins to learn things and they are not all good. Another worthy series.
DD who says you can't leave decorations up? I will keep our little toy tree for at least another week or two because i like it. Wow, what a loopy day at school with the kids! Amazing anyone survives being a teen.
My college chat group brought up the topic of aging today. I am glad because I wanted to chat with people who are all my same age but I felt overly decrepit and also maybe not politically correct. But today I learned I am not the only one with balance issues (ok one woman had trouble getting on her horse - like I would even consider such a thing) but seems to be a more universal aging thing. So be it.
Still working on pairing the habits like balance stuff while cooking eggs.
Cheers all. It is indeed 2525. Diane S.
So difficult to see kids make such dangerous choices in their naivety. We did too but now it is so much worse with social media. And don't we wish that they would listen to the adults in their life who give advice based on the stupid things they and their friends did at the same age?
