I cared for my mom (who had Alzheimer's) in our home for almost 9 years, and she spent the last 4 years of her life in a nursing home. Needless to say, I've observed many Alzheimer's patients over many years.
A common mantra regarding Alzheimer's is "Once you've met one Alzheimer's patient, you've met one Alzheimer's patient." The obvious meaning is that Alzheimer's presents in a myriad of unpredictable ways and may change constantly.
Still, trying to make sense out of what's happening with an Alzheimer's patient is an unavoidable temptation for those of us who love them.

118.6 - I took my 1/2 shot late yesterday afternoon and could barely eat 1/3 of a hamburger plus one onion ring. Interesting.
Lots of musical talk yesterday. We prefer to see musicals these days at the theatre. The 2 non-musicals we have seen have not been satisfying though the acting was good. The musicals have been way more entertaining for us.
Today we drive to Orlando to stay at Universal Studios for 2 nights and meet up with DH's other daughter and grandchildren. Our car and a rental will be going so the guests may leave before us so I can still do water aerobics and we can do a little bit of cleanup. Tomorrow we will spend all day at Universal. Need to pack the right shoes.
Our handyman finished repairing the ceiling after the chandelier was moved yesterday, so we shall have light for Thanksgiving. We will have 9 people at the table that day.
Time to change the sheets on our bed - I think DSD #2 and granddaughter will sleep there. Grandson on pull-out couch and I think we are going to sleep the 3 nights at the hotel across the street (sleep only so no packing of stuff).
Have a margarita Monday (we may eat at Margaritaville later today)!

Great picture - you look fabulous!
Must be a pain to have to drive so far to get to Costco - the downside of living in such beautiful surrounds I guess.

I loved the Velveteen Rabbit book. DD must have been awesome in that role.

I'm with you in feeling that we need to save jobs for bakers! And also in hating wall covered mirrors in gyms. I like having one in the house to consult on hemline, length of pants or shoe coordination, but that's a quick look. No workouts in front of them.

I love that your DSD and her fiancé enjoy spending time with you!

That's one of the problems with cleaning. You keep finding additional stuff to do! I was reading something the other day where it suggested emptying all your kitchen cabinets once a year, cleaning them and putting new liner in. Once a year!!!
I would do the trip on Thanksgiving too. Traditions are so important to keep as long as you can because you never know what the future will bring. But I bet you will need downtime the next day.

I SWEAR I posted this morning, but clearly I must not have pressed submit and it's long gone. I plead mush brain.
Guest-a-palooza came to a successful end! I think everyone had a nice time. Here is a picture with my Bff and our former boss. So nice to see her again, it's been too long! I wouldn't be mad if I lost another 10 pounds, but I am fine with where I am too.
I had planned to do nothing today, but realized I needed to get to Costco for my prescription (those of you who know Costco will get that this was a fatal error) as it's Thanksgiving week and I am busy tomorrow. So I drove 1.5 hours there to brave Sunday-before-Thanksgiving crowds and found the pharmacy isn't open Sundays. It never occurred to me!! I got the rest of my list, but I'm really mad about the fact I need to go back to get it or transfer it to another pharmacy who may not have it in time. Grrrrrrr. So mad at myself for not thinking to check.
I have tidied the house yet again as the designer comes tomorrow to bring the banquette bench for the family room and some other things. I also have a dentist appointment in the morning. Busy day.
Anyway, that's all for me! Take care!
My high school is doing Oliver! this week. Last year they did Mary Poppins. No flying though, we're not ready for that. When my DD was in high school she was in Beauty and the Beast, Hello Dolly, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. My favorite performance of hers was not a musical: The Velveteen Rabbit. She was the skinhorse. The director imagined the skin horse as a faded southern belle. DD was costumed in a mink coat and pearls. Hot on stage, but looked awesome.
