Wow! It's almost done. It's like a well choreographed dance!

Very low key morning here. We're off for coffee and scones shortly. DH wants to work on gutters this afternoon. I have lots of little errands to run, so ill knock some of them off. I started reading Tom Lake last night, and hope to have reading time today.

I need to check the long range weather forecast for Galveston and start thinking about what to pack.

Weight 119.4.

Yesterday most everything in DH's home was put away and the room with my former living room furniture was arranged. But I think it needs a deep cleaning - and not just in this room. Will likely need to wait until next year. DD and her new DH came to my soon to be former home at around 8 pm last night and took the rest of her furniture and some wedding bins they had left behind. Surprisingly they ended up with a full 10 foot truck. It didn't seem like that much stuff.

We are leaving at 6:45 to go to my place to meet the guy taking the last remaining furniture and to clean. I am hoping to be done by noon at the latest. It is already pretty clean as I did keep it up and the housekeeper came just before the wedding weekend.

The only remaining tasks which are dragging out and may have to be shifted to the new owners are replacing the mailbox which someone backed into a few weeks ago and getting the radio from the alarm system. On the former, I already bought the new box and support but the guy to remove the remains of the old box on the granite post and install the new one keeps cancelling. I called the alarm company to turn off service and they said someone would call me about them coming to pick up the radio but they haven't called. I really don't want to have to go back twice in the 6 days remaining so I'd like both these things to happen at the same time.

Not much else happening in life here. After today, I shift focus to packing for Florida. We will definitely need to ship at least one box as I have some decorative items to bring and am permanently transferring some clothing.

Have a successful Saturday!

I remember guys doing the grunting at the gym as you described. Do they not know what they sound like???

LOL on the thought that the crap involved in moving makes it easier to be happy with the decision. I think a lot of life's big changes are like that. You end up ready to have the kids go off to college because they are such pains in their last year or 2 at home. You dread retirement but then the last couple of years are such a drag.

So I'm sitting in my very clean soon not to be my house and contrasting it with DH's. Though I am carving out space at DH's home I am realizing how neglected it has been with respect to cleaning. Sand EVERYWHERE. I think I need to get out the toothbrush like you too.

A toast to Elise from those that cherish her memory alongside you. Lovely and fitting.

I agree that once they take trizepatide off the shortage list, so many people using the compounding pharmacy will move to the traditional pharmacy route, and there will be a shortage again! Maybe the FDA should consider the issue of financial hardship. While it's not easy to pay $300 plus amount a month for an effective medication with a broad list of health benefits, it's a lot easier than a $1000 plus if insurance won't cover it.

Last night was a lot of fun. We drank 2 bottles of wine. I'm pretty sure I did not drink half a bottle myself, so my other 3 companions had a good time. :) 2 lead singers, A bass and guitar player and drums. Eclectic mix of music, from pop sounds, to country, to indie sounds, to spine tingling a capella.

In school we are working on personal narratives. Some are funny and lighthearted, and some can break your heart. Some of these children (14 to 15 years old) have really been through it with the death of siblings or parents. It is a privilege when they trust you with their story.

When I got home DH and I went to dinner in Minneapolis. We were there right at opening, so not prime time, but we're a little concerned that no one else was there when we left. We really like this place, and we don't want to see it close. We had empanadas, and then split a steak that came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Good lord, a delicious and satisfying meal after a week of frozen pizzas and sandwiches. I feel so happy right now, with just the right amount of fullness. And I still have about 1/3 of my share for later.

It should warm back up to 80 tomorrow. It's A dreamlike Autumn. We don't have any real plans, and I'm happy. Last weekend was very busy with the 5 hour trip and back to Madison. Time to catch up on life would be good. In less than 2 weeks we will be in Galveston.

The compounding pharmacies can only make copies of patented meds if they are listed by the FDA as being in shortage. So they can't make dupes of Zepbound/Mounjaro (tirzepatide) if the originals are available. Some get around it by changing the formula by adding something like B-12 so it technically isn't the same. Not sure why all don't do that especially since the front companies (with the doctors or NPs) all pretty much use the same handful of compounding pharmacies.

I would likely start the desk, then end up napping.

Popcorn with real butter! One of my favorites. I'd rather eat a small 1 cup serving with butter, than a bag sized serving without. And lots of salt. Go big, or go home.
