Gray, intermittently rainy, and cool here today. Claudia wants to go to Frankfort for lobster rolls today. Pretty popular food truck up there. It's funny, she was just complaining about all the eating we've done lately, but yesterday suggested we go get Reuben sandwiches at the inn (I asked if she would split one with me, so we did), then wanted to go get ice cream (I couldn't as I was too full), and now lobster rolls! It always felt like the food suggestions were coming from me, but maybe I was just quick to just leap on the food bandwagons presented to me. I suppose the meds are working enough that I could take or leave any of it these days. I still enjoy food, can eat a fairly normal meal, and occasionally get snacky in the evenings, but this drive to try/eat everything is not present at the moment. Then again, I was convinced it wasn't working at all just a month ago, so I am an unreliable witness on this issue!
The scale moved a little more today thank goodness after pretty much a month of staying the same, and a second month within 3 pounds of that. 188.6.
Off to drink a protein shake... Enjoy your Friday!
Are we really in the second half of August already? Summer is almost gone.
We spent the night on Lake George with our friends. They sold their former home on the lake here earlier this year so are renting for a few weeks. The place they are at this week is the most remote so it feels like we are in the middle of nowhere but the views of the lake are wonderful. They still have a boat which we went out in yesterday afternoon, then docked at a local restaurant. On the way back it started pouring about 10 minutes from the house. We got soaked, but couldn't help laughing. We ate at the house last night. Really an enjoyable visit. These are people we met in Florida about 18 months ago - we bought their condo. So great to have made friends like this.
Later this morning we drive to Burlington VT. Our hotel is located right next to the area where there are lots of shops and restaurants. Luckily the weather is predicted to be dry though warm. Last year we stopped there for lunch on the way back from Montreal but didn't walk around because it was miserably rainy and cold.
Picture of an old Inn here on the lake (I'd love to stay here someday):
Have a fantastic Friday!

I was always told I should have my puppies spayed or neutered at 6 months. Very interesting to hear that there is a reason to wait. Justice wasn't neutered until he was 3 so he had plenty of time beforehand.

Lucky you to have a baby cuddling day! I'm also not sure I will ever be a grandmother which still surprises me in a lot of ways because I became a mother at such a young age and my oldest daughter always loved children.

What a difference you made in the futures of those kids! I hope you have that opportunity in your last year.

I have similar feelings about selling my house. It is the right decision but I am really going to miss it.

Red rice yeast? What is that? Do you sprinkle it on food? My DH doesn't really like ratatouille either, but I still make one big pot right about now when the farmers markets are bursting with all the goodies. I portion it up and freeze it. It heats up nicely.
Greetings all
Another beautiful day here. Sunny and breezy. Started the day with visit to doctor to fog mirror. My cholesterol is high and always has been but it's worse. He wants me to do red rice yeast since lipitor made me miserable. He is so funny. He told me I had plenty of attitude. LOL got that right. Then I went to the studio and made a few things. Power washing is going on outside my window so thats kind of noisy. Stopped at the hippie health food for a few things including red rice yeast. There was a farmers market outside so I got some green beans and cherry tomatoes. I would like to make rattatouie but DH hates it.
CC it seems your dad is experiencing some aging stuff. I have observed some older people lose a bit of their "finesse" in social situations and sometimes react in a slightly childish way. Crazy Pat had those issues big time and was angry and cranky a lot and it helped me to think of it as aging and not just that she was a mean witch! Sorry you and Claudia have to deal with it. And teenage Kirby must be a handfull. My niece the vet checked the bones of the puppy she got from me before she was spayed to insure bone development was sufficient. But that was a small dog. She things animal welfare groups have pushed veterinary opinion into early spay neuter and its best to wait. I let all my puppy buyers choose since I knew they were not going to haphazardly reproduce.
DD how cool is that reading program!!! It must be awful to be a kid and go to school and not being able to read well which makes everything else impossible. I think kids need to start learning to read from birth by hearing language and being read to. I feel lucky to have had parents that recognized this and I can't remember not knowing how to read. It's such a gift. You are a gift to your students!
Liz hope you get rodent free car soon. I saw some internet post about anti rodent spray for cars. Who knows.
Great job Paula on 21 lbs. Good on you for baby duty. Such a sweetie.
Ann enjoy your lazy summer days. Thats what summer is for.

21 lbs. down! 40 to go! 1/3 of the way there in 2 ish months isn?t bad. Need to go clothes shopping in my closet. 12?s are officially too big (at least the pair of pants I have on today). If I can easily slip them off without unbuttoning or unzipping, I declare them too big!
Spent 4 hours of my day cuddling a baby. Our Bible study couple that are new parents needed a break and needed to get caught up on some sleep so ?Grandma? Paula came to their rescue. Not sure if I will have my own grand babies or not, so gotta get those snuggles in any chance I can.
Got a denial from the Pharm manager for my insurance for the Tirzepatide. Not sure why yet and not sure if it is worth fighting. Nobody wants to pay for things without a fight anymore! I remember how much I had to fight the insurance companies when Ben was battling cancer. Refusing scans after he had a reoccurrence of his cancer! Pissed me off royally!
Rainy, cooler day today. Perfect for baby snuggles! Gotta heat up last night?s leftovers soon! DH will be home from work any minute!
