Good luck on the negotiations! With your smarts and wit and lawyer skills, I bet you can win him over.

Definitely still hot here. The NWS was calling it Hotober...

100% agree about helping suffering Americans before sending money abroad.

Greetings all

Early check in for me. I have gallery duty this afternoon and may not get logged on later. It's sunny and nice and hopefully will be a good gallery day. A representative of our landlord is stopping by to negotiate the lease with me since no one else will do it. They want a pretty stiff increase so I gotta beat that down. Wish me luck.

Liz your home is so lovely I can see why you have some emotions. I sometimes miss my 3x bigger house we used to live in but remind myself of all the maintenance it took and all the work it took to get out of there. You have such a great place in Florida. Enjoy your digs! And you are rocking weight.

CC still so hot in AZ. Hoping for cool soon. RIP dog toys. I cannot think of any way to recycle that stuff. We get the no stuffing toys these days after years of cleaning up fuzz.

Good on you Bonnie on a good check up. Yep eat your protein. Enjoy the new home.

DH is at lunch at a mexican place so likely leftovers for dinner.

Got a call from our hotel in Marin yesterday. They are having some big repairs so there might not be ho****er for our stay. LOL. They will give us a big discount if we stay anyway so I said ok. Do not want to be looking for other places there as I am terrified of bay area driving these days. This place I know as I have been to this doctor many times. DH got our printer working again so I can print out instructions. I hate relying on GPS and need to know in my head where we are and where we are headed. Quaint? Maybe but gotta know. Years ago I drove all around San Fran exploring by myself lots of times but now it's just too scary. So be it.

Not much else. I am still in pjs. Maybe will consider getting dressed.

Weight up another pound today. While not what I want, I'm okay with it. I woke up already a little sore from yesterday's workout, so I know I'm retaining fluid for muscle repair. I have a feeling the SORE is going to hit tonight. Tomorrow may not be at all pretty for the hamstrings!

Shot has kicked in. I'm eating lunch because I have to, not because I want to. Orderly Meds was supposed to send out an option to buy several months of meds in advance this week. I have not yet gotten a notice of ability to be able to do that. I will absolutely buy several months in advance to keep my supply! Right now it is an essential part of my arsenal!

I am getting to that point of really feeling good in my skin. Sure, lots of weight to still lose, but I feel "Un-obese" now. Just overweight. I'm teaching my little ones a dance this week and it sure is easier to move around and teach them the moves. I don't feel cloddy and awkward.

I am really happy that Florida was not hit with the force anticipated. However, while that may be a relief, there are areas and pockets of damage that are catastrophic. I am in the camp of thought that all US dollars should be spent at home until Florida and the Carolinas are back in working and livable order. Is that short sighted of me? I don't know. But I sure don't like the idea of sending money to other parts of the world when I believe we should be taking care of our own and prioritizing our own citizenry. It irks me that I have a friend who can't get medicare to cover the only med that works for her rheumatoid arthritis, but we can send money to other countries to help them "win wars". Just seems wrong. Isn't the phrase "Charity begins at home"? Okay.... Rant over.

Well, my friends... I hope for us all to have fantastic Fridays filled with frolicking, fun and frivolity! (How's that for alliteration?!?!?!)

I have learned that there are specific characters that when used will erase everything that comes after it on teh post. I believe, the #, greater than and less than symbols are some of the culprits... so is the = sign if I recall...

128.9

I get the mixed feelings over leaving a memory filled home. Smile and say thanks.

Yesterday was my 6 months check up. (The chart showed my weight at 189 in April). Feeling pretty good about that. Labs came back non-concerning save being a wee bit anemic. Dr only mildly interested in the lower than necessary weight (after being assured that I wasn't purposefully trying to lose). Left with instructions to continue protein forward followed by eating more frequently with goal to gain weight and maintain at about >135

Weight 120.8 (official weekly weight). Essentially unchanged since mid-August:

Today I close on the house - the walkthrough is in 90 minutes. I am feeling very sad though I keep telling myself that it will be a relief not to take care of it anymore. But I really did love that house, that neighborhood, that town. So many memories. It will be easier once we are back in Florida concentrating on our home there.

We either still don't have power or internet in Florida because I can't access the thermostat or the camera. I will check in with people in a bit to find out. Not nice to be in Florida steamy weather without AC. DS' coworkers made it to Orlando last night (on a commercial flight). DS leaves tomorrow. We fly Monday, but to our local airport which hopefully also opens today. I am still waiting to hear from my friend about his mobile home - he says he will find out today but it sounds like that area of Venice isn't too bad. The biggest damage in Florida was on the east coast from the tornadoes. Several touched down in our town, ripping off roofs and turning over vehicles. But not in our community thank goodness.

Diane S asked about hurricane season. It runs from June 1 to November 30. The peak is September and not many usually occur in October and November but this year is obviously an anomaly probably because the water is so warm. I used to work in Commercial Property Insurance so we paid a lot of attention to this stuff.

Time to get Justice out into the COLD weather here. 50 degrees! Have a final Friday!

LOL: "DH tends to deposit debris in there when I am not looking" - Seems like a lot of husbands have this tendency (definitely mine).

You guys think I am organized, but I would have to have a checklist on my phone if I had multiple errands to do like yours. In fact, I have one for this afternoon!

Greetings all

It's a sunny crisp fall day. I had a significant chore list which I managed to complete. Pet store for dog food, CVS for coffee and travel stuff, walking at the gym, stop at the bank to cash a check and get $ for house sitter and finally visit to the studio. So all is good. DH is making a Costco run; in part because he wants to practice charging our newer electric car on a public charger. We have only charged it at our home. I am sure it will be fine. Have to plan a bit to make a 250 mile trip in an electric car though we have all the charger apps and such. So he will have fun and I get to control the tv.

Donuts! Bet I have not had one in a couple of years! It's helpful that I do not have a job at a place where such things appear. But an annual donut never hurt anyone. Not even a monthly one.

Well the one person I know in Tampa is fine. Seems like preparation was pretty good and loss of life not as high as anticipated. I don't envy anyone who has debris to clean up. When is hurricane season over? Soon I hope.

I made some hamburger with macaroni last night. Plain but decent. DH did not want an ordinary hamburger. More for tonight.

Just realized I have to work on the guest bedroom before we leave so house sitter has it clean. Must investigate as DH tend to deposit debris in there when I am not looking.

Thats about it. Stay well all.

Diane S
