Peps, I'd like refs on reverse dieting, too.
Oddly, I'm having trouble right now keeping weight on. Am now fluctuating between 125 and 128. That's about 10 pounds less than my longtime post-VSG weight of 135ish. As I said before I don't hate this weight, but it feels odd. I'm guessing I've built a new set point for myself. (Maybe I accidentally did reverse dieting?)
We're submitting an offer today on a new domicile in KY. If and when it's accepted I'll describe it more, but it feels good, even if only temporarily, to have found something we really like in a great neighborhood.
Today's schedule includes termite spraying and hornets nest removal, town errands, and house cleaning.
Happy trails to everyone.

Weight 120 - after a pasta dinner last night. Definitely have to eat more calories/protein. Travel days seem to either be filled with too much junk food or not enough food. Speaking of eating, I do want to try Peps suggested "reverse dieting". If you could suggest a good source(s) to read about it I'd appreciate it. I couldn't seem to find anything from Mayo when googling the other day, though I did find some other articles.
So happy to be home! But I realized that the bed here is much less comfortable than Florida. It used to be the spare mattress which DS said was too firm for him. I let him swap the mattresses when he moved since we are getting rid of this one anyway. I guess he was correct that it was too firm.
My condo is filled with hanging towels and piles of sheets to be washed when we get back in mid-October but I did get my own sheets washed and bed made along with clean towels for two. And the refrigerator was emptied of all stuff that would go bad. Mission accomplished (though I hate throwing out so much).
After being back there for a weekend I am anxious to return when our friends are there in a month and one-half. Lots to do before then though.
Today we are going to the New Bedford whaling museum, then to dinner with friends in that area. No rest for the weary.
Have a terrific Tuesday!

My hair was short for years - always short enough to not be able to get in my eyes. I can't stand it in between that length and ponytail length especially if I am trying to get something done with my head down.
Shrimp is such a great healthy source of protein.

So glad you are having a better start to your last year.

You know from after VSG that our bodies naturally tend to hold onto weight when they feel they have to save us from starvation. It will go down again. I weighed monthly after VSG so I wouldn't have to see the stalls and weekly during other weight loss periods. I only weigh daily during maintenance.

I loved that video of Kirby swimming. Hopefully that's a breakthrough for him.

Genes are such a big factor. You get to see it in puppies where you know the parents and I have learned it through the adoption of my children. Some adoptive parents prefer to feel that environment trumps genetics but it really just steers it. Genetics doesn't just influence how they physically look, but also their temperament, mannerisms, interests, and intelligence. It has been so interesting to be able to see my adopted children with their birth families.

Greetings all
It's sunny today and warm. For a moment I was actually hot! Experiencing the summer conundrum of whether to cut my hair shorter but in doing so forfeit the ability to do a pony tail. Such a dilemma. Spent the morning doing grown up stuff like gallery insurance and checking on its state income taxes. The tax board has such a convoluted web site and phone tree that I finally called my state assembly representative for assistance. Totally absurd but they agreed to help. After that I stopped at the studio and did glazing and a few other chores.
DH went to costco and brought home shrimp. So thats dinner for a few days. Works for me.
Yeah the princess bush is very happy here. They are very frost sensitive so they only thrive if they are up against a building. The one out in the yard bit the dust. At Halloween we are going to have to cut it way back because we watch the kids through the kitchen bay window and it blocks. Blooms will be gone by then. And yeah Peps, this place is hydrangea heaven.
Congrats DD on not having a dumpster fire at work. Good idea not to over stress over ridiculous changes. Oh boy, midwestern thunderstorms! Nothing like them. Hope it's not too bad.
Well Peps not surprising you have some mixed feelings over loss of Goat. It's a big deal. But trust me, being retired is fabulous. And think of the fun you will have showing that puppy which will be show age about when you retire.
Liz good on you for thinking of the refrigerator clean out. Many years ago Crazy Pat came to visit us and ended up staying two years. When she finally went back to LA, the stuff in her refrigerator was so bad that the whole appliance had to be tossed! Just imagine that. Fur in the mechanical parts. Sounds like all the bride week stuff was fun.
CC Kirby is a water dog! Look out, he will never get out! Good that you have AC for the sticky hot days.
Paula I bet that pound drops once you are home for a couple of days.
So much for retired life. Time to turn on the news and walk on the treadmill.

Florida type weather here, 94 degrees with impossibly high humidity. Probably bad storms tonight. The weather must have made it to Michigan.
Liz it is so nice to know your kid's friends. My children both have some life long friends that I know well. I miss them! As adults, they've added important people to their lives, that I don't know as well, or not at all, which of course, is to be expected. (They don't live with me anymore, or need me to drive them around ).
Paula, that tiny up tick is no doubt due to traveling and water retention.
First workshop day was fine, although there were some technology bumps that up the frustration quota. A new sped administration has yet another set of new ideas and changes to how we've done things that are different than the changes made last year. I blissfully don't care. I'll implement them as best I can, even though some are not going to work well. But that will get sorted in due time. Overall, feeling better about the start than last year, which was a complete dumpster fire that burned and smouldered all 9 months.
Not too interested in dinner, after some treats at school. Definitely need to have a protein shake to salvage the day's nutrition.
