The sad news that Lizanne's husband passed away reminded me of the losses this small group has endured It's my 2nd greatest fear, that I will outlive my husband. The first is I will outlive one of my children. You amazing women show me there is always a path forward, even when the unimaginable happens.
Workshop week is done, and as I predicted the work is not done, so I'll be hopping on my computer in a bit. Our last training was security. Our School Resource Officer shared we have an incoming student who survived a school shooting in another state where 8 people died. The point of sharing was to remind us it can happen, and if we know that, and take our training seriously, we can survive. Never my favorite part of the week.
There are a lot of folks talking about Wegovy at work these days! Once word got out our insurance covers it, people got on board. We'll see if it's transformative. I never discussed my WLS surgery at work, unless someone who would obviously benefit from it asked. Otherwise, none of your business. But I find myself more willing to talk about Wegovy, since I am not alone in using it, and it was/is effective. With all the current medications available, and the new ones coming, hopefully the stigma around obesity will lessen and people will accept that medical intervention is a good thing, not the "wrong way".
DH and I will celebrate our anniversary tonight with a dinner in St. Paul. We're going to a longtime restaurant that has the most beautiful patio. The first time we dined there was years ago when we went for brunch with my parents before checking out possible venues for our wedding reception. Saturday we have a birthday party for my great nephew, who is turning 4. That's all the plans so far.

I'm so sorry for Lizanne. My heart goes out to her and her family.
Not much to report again today. My dad is getting my flight scheduled for me (it's his account with the company). I did a lot of HOA stuff yesterday.
Just the usual on tap for today - a dog walk, some tidying. I have some gardening tasks to do too in my vegetable garden turned grass/weed factory. I'm going to put cardboard down to try to kill off the weeds for next year. Not sure if it will just make a bigger mess or if it will work. The only way to know is to try. But at this point, it's try or bulldoze it.
Aside from that, no news here. Take care all,
Congrats on the accepted offer! The tricky part is combing the stuff of multiple houses into one!
Quick catch-up. We got the house! And yes, it?s a house, not a condo. As I?ve said before, the condo inventory is so very low in Kentucky that we rethought what we need and took a broader view of things. Our new ?forever home? is in a GREAT neighborhood with excellent access to freeways, shopping, restaurants, etc.
The negotiations turned into a 3-way bidding war with best and final bids plus escalation clauses in case of ties. Turned out that our best and final bid was enough, and we still got a great deal!
Closing will be 4-6 weeks from now. Inspection is today (we won?t be there for it, but that?s ok). Moving will be a challenge, because it?s moving. But it is great to not have to worry anymore about the great unknown. We?ll be here in my house until December, so we can refinish floors in the new house, etc. before we really move in.
Today is one of those 20-item to-do list days, so I have to get up, get dressed and be somebody. Cheers!
P.S. I am so looking forward to having only ONE house! The multiple homes scene is not one that I enjoy--financially or logistically.

I was just on FB and it looks like ThinLizzy's DH passed away. Several of us have been in her shoes previously. Sending her condolences and love.
