Good morning, all! Here in snowland, I'm starting to get cabin fever. A trip to Kroger sounds pretty good right now.
About parenting ... I don't have kids, so I don't know much about parenting. But I do remember when I realized my dad had given up that role or changed his view of what it meant for him. I was 36 or 37, newly single again, and home from L.A. to spend Christmas with my parents. I slowly realized that something had changed. He was pleasant and amiable, but he was no longer offering opinions about things I said, much less offering advice. He seemed perfectly comfortable with me saying or doing anything without any commentary from him.
I suddenly realized that he was done worrying about me. Although I wasn't living my life the way he would have wanted me to, he was no longer investing energy in trying to change or guide or persuade me about anything. It was a strange sensation to realize that he was marshaling his energy for others (and maybe for himself) and had moved me to a back burner. But I also realized it was only fair that he should be able to reorder his priorities.
Because he and I never talked about any of this, I can only assume that what I observed is what was really going on with him. In any event, this felt like a kind of graduation, at least for me. And maybe it was for him, too.

I did accomplish what I planned yesterday plus hanging a couple of pictures. The closet is now configured with enough hanging areas for my longer clothes. Previously it had lots of room for shorter items but only a small area for longer stuff though several of the short areas were being unused.
And Justice was home by 7:45 am. He was very affectionate yesterday.
Today is shopping, laundry and cooking day. I am going to try make a low carb lasagne I found online. We shall see how it comes out.
I also have to defuse DS who blew up yesterday afternoon likely based on lack of knowledge about a family situation and proceeded to get several people upset. I was too annoyed with him to even talk it through last night except to tell him that his reaction was unwarranted, to stop calling people, and I would discuss it with him this morning. Why does being a parent never end?
Have a Tenacious Tuesday!

Gosh what a day Paula! No more of those please. Glad dh is getting some relief. Hoping he is well by Maui and ditto puppy. Ds
Wow! Tough day. Hope Bella Boo is okay.
Edit: Just realized I did not include your DH in my good wishes. Such a dog man, am I. My bad! Want the best for DH, too!
What a day - I hope it settles down tomorrow and DH and Bella Boo are feeling better

139.6, same.
OMG, what day! Started out with taking DH to Urgent Care for the second day in a row and is ending at the Emergency Vet Hospital with the little white dog. The only thing that happened in between the 2 was a haircut for me!
DH got prescribed steroids which should help with his cough. He seems to be feeling much better compared to this morning when he could hardly breathe.
Bella Boo was whining last night, didn't eat much or drink today, didn't move from the couch, very lethargic and wobbly. Blood pressure was very low (60 systolic). Labs and urine normal. She was given an IV to increase BP. Chest xray showed enlarged heart and she has a heart murmur. BP now normal so we can bring her home.
I only got in about 600 calories today. Too tired to think about getting in more.
Laundry, like house cleaning and dishwashing is a task that is never completed! Even when you are folding the last item there are already other dirty clothes, sheets, towels, etc. being created. Sigh.

Greetings all
Sun is out and life is good. No snow here though there might be some up in the mountains. I picked up payroll and took it to the studio and did some stuff there. Everything is moving right along. I did the gym walking after all that other study and concluded it is not a good idea. For whatever reason I was pretty tired. DH got the dogs out for a walk so that is good.
Remainder of the pot pie will be dinner tonight. We watched the Golden Globes last night and had not heard of a lot of the stuff. Nice to have an iPad so you can look up stuff. The series "Baby Reindeer" won some awards so we decided to watch it. It is very weird and is the true story of a stalker. We also watched the rest of The Tourist series 2. Series one was better.
Well Ann, are you out and about in the Great White South? Good to hear that the city is managing well.
DD sounds like you have your hands full at school. People who don't have the ability to plan time drive me nuts. I guess it is one of the things that high school is trying to teach to kids. Some get it and some never do. Sometimes I think it is inborn. Hope the semester comes to a smooth close.
Cold cabanas Liz! That is totally unacceptable. Enjoy your down time without guests.
Peps that sounds like a pretty brutal drive. The TT pictures looked great! Rest up.
I actually got most of the laundry organized this morning as it had reached crisis levels. Several baskets of clean stuff waiting to be folded and in danger of getting mixed with the dirty stuff. Disaster averted. Now if only I could do the same with my desk. I did get some files made up and checklists started for the gallery new year. Baby steps.
So the meaning of the elevator sign remains a mystery. Maybe I will post it on FB and see what happens.

Sounds like it is time to retire!

I can't do those LONG drives anymore (nor do I love long plane rides but driving is more difficult for me).
