I'm glad DH and you had such a good time on your date night/trip! There is a lure about living in a city isn't there?

A fireplace is so nice to remove chill without getting the whole place heated. Sounds like you may need a bit more soon though.

Yes, we have Maid rites, but ours is just browned ground beef with Ketchup added, a less glorious sloppy Joe if you will! The pit roast sounds amazing! DH doesn't like roast so I never make it!
Greetings all
It's starting to rain here which is better than an earthquake. I went to the gym and did my walking. I have a very small stride and always have (picture Japanese woman in kimono) so no wonder I don't get very far. I was always slower than everyone else as a kid. But at least old age brings the wisdom to think "I don't give a fuck". So there.
Did some studio time. We are doing really well financially and will give bonuses next week. Some of my things got fired yesterday so they will be out Monday. Studio buddy wanted to come over and watch football today but I had stuff to do. Yesterday at the gallery a friend came by who has one of the puppies. Sassy. Adorable and a live wire.
Bonnie sorry the germs found you. You are correct that a good treatment plan is a day of lounging and fresh pajamas every 24 hours. Herb tea and slippers. I swear the only thing that helps a cold is a steamy shower. Feel better soon.
DD you big city girl! Your evening sounds great. Good on you for taking advantage of what is available which is considerable.
Liz hope you have fun with the bland eating SILs. Once you know this I guess it makes it easier to be the hostess. Or does it? I remember CC's aunt who hates everything to the point no one will tolerate her. So just as well that the SILs shun escargot.
Any of you midwesterners ever eat Maid Rite sandwiches? We had a version of those called Tastees when I grew up. Anyway my brother is being nostalgic about those and thinks he has the recipe and wants us to make them sometime. Steamed loose meat sandwiches on greasy buns. So now I have that on my mind.
Paula congrats on the clothing finds. Always fun to fit something that once did not fit.
CC enjoy the crisp air. Seems like older people always want it a zillion degrees. It was like that at my mom's retirement home.
Pot roast cooking and it smells great. Still needs a couple of hours as it's pretty tough. carrots have yet to be added.
Gallery duty again tomorrow but then I am done for the year. Seems impossible that this wild year is coming to a close.

Back from 24 hours in the big city. We had the best time! Hotel, dinner at Minneapolis' most treasured steak house, the absolutely amazing Christmas show, and then lunch this morning at an Inn on a little chunk of land called Nicollet Island surrounded by the Mississippi River. All venues tastefully decorated for Christmas.
Walking to dinner and the theater last night made me want to live smack in the city again. The Inn we went to is right near the neighborhood I lived in when I was a student. The area has super gentrified. I don't think we can afford it now. I would move back there in a heartbeat though if we could.
It was such a nice break. I feel like we went on a little vacation. We may have to do this again.
Not much else planned. Perhaps an afternoon nap after all the big city life! Relishing the relaxed schedule.

50s and sun during the day for the foreseeable future and 20s and 30s at night. I don't like having the heat on (and it will be blasting when my dad is here so I'm trying to enjoy the bite), and the sun will warm parts of the house today, but right now brr. So I flipped on the fireplace.
The gallery thing was just okay, but it was nice to see my friends. Then I came home and worked on the HOA newsletter. No plans for today, so jus****ching tv and thinking about how I really should go clean the fur off of something and walk the dog...
Bonnie, sorry you have the crud! Feel better soon. Peps, I saw your cryptic FB post. What happened if you want to share? Liz, the sisters sounds like they must be super-tasters with their toddler-like tastes! I struggle to imagine not liking what the world of food has to offer? DD, I still wore my flip-flops yesterday though my tootsies were slightly chilled as I was leaving the event. Nothing the car heater couldn't fix. Paula congrats on the basement clothes shopping!
Sounds like a productive and full day on tap!

I hope you feel better soon! I had a head cold last week too which didn't last long though I ended up with a sinus infection which is normal for me. Hopefully you won't be laid up too long.

Hope you feel better soon! Yes, we have been seeing a lot of sickness around here too! I'm thinking of wearing a garlic bulb necklace to ward off anything! Like that would work! Lol!
DH sisters sound like my DSD, very picky eater and not adventurous at all! My boys will eat anything and enjoy trying out new cuisine!
