Hello from Amsterdam! I posted some pics on TT. Got in the hotel room here about noon (3 am west coast time). We slept for about 5 hours. Got up and had dinner with brother and walked around the canal district. I'm feeling ready for sleep already....
No weighing for me until June 26!!!! Yikes! That sure feels weird. Liberating, but weird.
Tomorrow is a walking tour, a canal tour and then later in the (6 pm) we have tickets to teh Anne Frank House Museum. We picked a Tapas place for lunch tomorrow, too!
Tschuss!
Greetings all
Overcast now but I predict sun later. I will be heading to the studio to pick up new stuff and move things along and then head to the gallery for delivery. Probably a quick grocery stop somewhere. Not sure if I will get the gym in.
So the studio tour was fun. First stop was in a small town a few miles away. This ceramic artist has a salt kiln and we were eager to see it. Nice one. I bought a mug and admired the roses planted there. They are on steroids! Next stop was a blacksmith shop. Very interesting to see the process and learn about how it is done. These people really didn't have anything for sale so I guess they were just open for fun. Third stop was a stained glass studio of a friend. My co pilot kept insisting the map was upside down (not) but it indeed did not label an access road. I was forced to use the gps on the phone. Car has all that but I can't work it. So the phone gps said we were 400 feet away from the spot. Stuff out here is super rural and this place is in sand dunes near the ocean. Streets are unmarked. Anyway we got there fine in spite of Miss Upsidedown Map. After that we went to a brewery for lunch and I got shrimp tacos. Enough for dinner. This place has great food. It was a good day and fun.
CC hope the repairs today go well and you can rest a bit. Yep age catches up. Some days I really feel like I should have a cane such as yesterday when much walking was on uneven ground. Speaking of aches, has anyone tried that mushroom coffee Rhyze or something like that. It claims to reduce inflammation, eliminate anxiety, fix gut issues and a host of other things. Sounds too good to be true but they sure are heavy on the advertising.
Liz our dogs also seek sun. They will find a tiny square of sun from the sky lights and occupy it. They love to bask on the deck. Enjoy the worthy Mexican restaurant. Tacos are a new obsession.
Greenland Peps? See any precious minerals?
I made a Crack an Egg today only I put two eggs in it. Worked great. Cooked a few extra seconds.
So DD is this indeed the first day of the rest of your life!!

Wait until you are over 70. Your mind says you feel just the same as always until you try to get up off the floor!

I was not fully unsore from my Kirby fall when I did my rug so I'm extra sore today! I'm walking like Quasimodo with a distinct lean to the right and can't seem to get fully upright. But it's done and that feels good. I broke open the scab on my knee too, so that was a clean up job... I feel like over 50, I'm banking my energy against my soreness to go from project to project. It's a balancing act.
I'm waiting for the a/c guy and the blinds guy and looking forward to the afternoon when everyone is gone.
Dogs are all so different! Kirby looks for shade and doesn't sunbathe. Fergus loved to sunbathe. The hotter the better.
Anyway, I should get ready for my work people. Take care all...
120 - back at the top for this scale, so hopefully it won't go higher. I didn't think I ate a whole lot more than usual yesterday.
Last week for DD, and big adventure for Peps this week!
DH and I have one more week in paradise. Yesterday we had breakfast at the resort and they burned our fried eggs, but undercooked DH's english muffins. Off the list now I guess. I have been keeping lists of where we ate each night for the last few years with notes about what was good or not. It has turned out to be very helpful.
Speaking of lists, I make packing lists on my iPhone/ipad. I keep all the prior ones so start for each trip by copying the one closest to the upcoming trip. I usually start them at least a couple of weeks in advance so they are pretty refined by packing day. Makes the actual packing pretty fast. I am already working on the one for my 3 week European trip which starts on 6/25 and includes a formal wedding. The formal stuff for the wedding was the big addition to my usual list. My Mephisto sandals purchased in Italy in 2010 is another big change as they are the best walking sandals I ever had. I have to walk around them daily when we get home to get my feet accustomed to them again.
Today the water aerobics starts up again. Tonight I think we are doing the new and good Mexican place across the street again. Otherwise, the usual walk. We have been getting daily pictures of Justice at my stepdaughter's home seemingly always curled up sleeping in the sun LOL. He does like his sunbathing. Though he is reportedly roaming around their fenced in yard a lot with their dog.
Have a Monday meeting expectations!

Very organized! I think DH and I would do better with those 56 pounds distributed between 2 smaller suitcases though.

I like some humidity, but not a lot. 80 with some humidity feels perfect to me. Here is usually in the high 80's, somewhat humid (average 78%), and with a breeze at 20-30 mph. It feels pretty good especially in the shade.

Wow! You were motivated. I guess that means you have mostly healed since Kirby's misadventure?

At last the restaurant was good! I hate paying a lot for a less than fantastic meal.
