They did give her a week's worth of progesterone but no iron suggestion - I will mention that to her.

That's nuts, Liz. There are things they could give her to slow bleeding until they can see her instead of letting her suffer. Tranexamic acid or progesterone for two. Make sure she is taking iron supplements in the meantime!

Greetings all

It is not really raining here - just sort of spitting as we used to say in the midwest. More storms to come. I went to the hardware store to find picture hanging stuff for some art items. They are actually ceramic and oddly shaped so I had hoped to find some sort of hook to glue on. No dice. On top of that, all the picture stuff was displayed on a rack that was at least 6 feet off the ground. So it was impossible to see. I asked for a step stool. Also no dice. I left annoyed. I am making my own out of some wire. Get the idea that I hate most retail stores?

So gym after that. Today's music was Peter Paul and Mary. So awesome. I saw them in concert over 30 years ago and they were sort of old then but they are timeless. Made my time fly by.

So today's mission is to make these hangers and see if they work. I should have made holes in the pieces but just did grooves. Oh well.

Yikes Ann I saw the news on tornados. Near Poplar Bluff which I remember from our trips to the Ozarks. Not good. Seems like storms are getting worse. Glad you had a good night out. Two kinds of wine! You are living it up. Never thought of stocking up on champagne but it might be a good plan. Keeps longer than eggs.

DD sounds like a great visit. Your DH has a keeper and we hope he knows that. Fun for you.

Paula french toast bake does sound too sweet but a good brunch dish. A friend of mine used to make a cottage cheese puff dish that was also good. So your kids think you are too thin? Too bad.

Liz glad your DD at least has an appointment though it seems shameful that she has to wait and the other doctor is discarding her. Seek the cancel list indeed. Will her previous records be transmitted so they don't have to re invent the wheel? BVI spounds like fun though rum drinks can be killer. Bon Voyage again.

It appears one of the Big Bear eaglets is deceased though it is hard to tell as the nest surround is deep in snow. Only two bobble heads are visible. Thousands of people are crushed, including me.

Shrimp tonight. I am making a sort of fried rice with a lot of celery and less rice. We shall see. Then it will be time for more Dexter - our new indulgence.

Good afternoon from Wisconsin! Yesterday was almost 80, today is in the 50s, and overcast. Tomorrow will be even colder. Then warm again later in the week. Weather whiplash.

We are having a nice visit. Last night we went out for appetizers and drinks when we arrived around 8:30pm. This morning we had brunch at a French bakery, owned by real French persons! We visited a few sites at University of Wisconsin, and walked by Lake Moana. Now we are back at our hotel for a breather before we go out to dinner, and then to a night club to hear a Blues group from Chicago. Sounds perfect.

DS continues to be very happy, and the more time we spend with him and his lovely girlfriend, the more we like them together. So nice to see.

Well, perhaps time for a little nap. Hope everyone is enjoying a Saturday by doing what makes them happy.

128.6lbs. ... headed in the right direction. I'm noticing anew that a breakfast of just protein drink and skinny latte keeps my hunger at bay most of the day until dinner time.

Liz, I look forward to your holiday pix. It sounds so lovely down there.

Your DD's experience sounds rough. I feel for her. I hope someone on her medical team will stand up and advocate strongly for her!

Our anniversary dinner last night was lovely. Wonderful food--red snapper and short ribs--and wines--French and Napa. We wound up eating at the bar (which we like to do) and learned a lot about how restaurants are trying to navigate the on-again-off-again tariffs scene. The bar manager said their biggest concern is champagne. Sort of a "let them eat cake" kind of a problem, but it did make me think about buying a few French bottles soon. Now if our wine cooler were already installed ....

Tornado warnings here last night, but no actual tornados. However, tornados and high winds wreaked havoc last night in Missouri and killed 3 people in counties near my old home. Lots of trees are down, so it's a weekend of chain saws and pulling logs off of driveways and roads. I'm grateful not to have any of that to deal with!

No workers at our house today, but we'll get some deliveries. It'll be a rainy, windy weekend.

I hope the weather is kind where you are and that you enjoy the perfect combination of pleasure and productivity.

So sorry you didn't get any sleep last night Liz! Hope that doesn't negatively influence your first day on the ship! Our good friends go to Jamaica every year for vacation to different Sandals resorts and were telling us about their painkiller ****tails that were very good! Any straight up liquor would be a no for me!

128.5 today. Interesting that my 2 boys that don't live local both told me that I was too thin. I agree that I shouldn't lose more, but BMI is 22.something.

This morning I did a trial run of the French toast casserole that I will make for DSDs bridal shower at the end of the month. I made one with added blueberries and one without. Both were very tasty but not what I would choose for breakfast these days (too sweet for me to make it a meal). The boys and DH enjoyed it though and gave me 2 thumbs up!

Plan to hit the treadmill today and then tonight we will do the early birthday celebration sushi dinner with cake afterwards. It is nice to have all my kids here at the same time!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

No weight and no sleep. I kept thinking I would fall asleep before dawn but other than a little dozing in the early night I was up all night. I finished my book, then started Huckleberry Finn for my book club. Not liking it much more than I did as a kid.

DD has an appointment with her PCP and the new gyno in 2 weeks. No sense of real urgency in any of these people. Apparently 2.5 months of bleeding heavily isn't a big deal to them. DD is going to call the gyno's office Monday to at least be on a cancellation list.

Tortola is beautiful but extremely hilly. We took a walk yesterday morning but couldn't go too far with all the hills, a narrow road, and no sidewalks. Really hairy when cars come by. We took cabs everywhere yesterday. We ate a good lunch at Pussars, poked around in shops, then went for a tour of a rum distillery. Pretty much the same process has been followed for 400 years. No fancy machinery here! I had lots of drinks I usually never have: A painkiller which is dangerously tasty at lunch and tasted rum at the distillery. Too raw for me. Last night we ate at a restaurant down the road and I had a phenomenal piece of tuna. I couldn't fini**** but wanted to. So, so good.

Today we leave at 11:15 to take a cab to the boat, boarding sometime just after noon. I will post some Tortola pictures on FB and boat pictures later.

Have a satisfying Saturday! DD enjoy your visit with DS and his fantastic girl!

What a pain to have to chase for dues. The deadbeats should be ratted out.

Dexter is definitely all of that.

Greetings all

It has been a mixed day of rain and sun but big rain will come tonight. DH went out to lunch and then to Costco. Not sure what all he brought home. Meanwhile I did my walking and am doing some gluing of art projects. More stuff needs to be done but I am staying home for the rest of the day.

Liz glad you arrived safely. That spot looks wonderful. Sorry your DD is having such a bad medical experience. Can these doctors not agree that something is wrong and try to address it? Beware of scooters.

Happy anniversary Ann. You have really made your sleeve work. Yay. Enjoy getting dressed up. Cool that the town has so many nice places. And yay you and Paula for being scale twins.

This morning I got caught up on gallery banking. Each member pays some membership dues and my job is to collect and account, among other things. Half the people are being in payments so I have to get after them. For most it is being inattentive but one or two are sort of deadbeats. I will rat them out to our board. At the gym I continued to listen to Les Miz. It really is the best musical ever and makes you think about the underlying story of greed, crime, punishment, redemption and honor. I think I read that book a zillion years ago.

We are still watching Dexter which DH regards as a guilty little pleasure. So sick and so entertaining.

There is about a foot of snow on the eagle nest. One of the eaglets may be missing.

Was it really 40 years since Good Morning Vietnam?!?

Absolutely great to dress up and feel good! We are so much healthier and look it now!
